18.01.2022 Echidna Production Machinery has completed the development of a cutting attachment primarily conceived for the removal of temporary support structures used in conjuction with the New Austrian Method in tunnelling. The first such device is a 75 kW cutting head carried by a Liebherr 944 tunneling excavator. This head provides remotely controlled articulation around 5 axis and thus allows the cutting at any angle and any position that can be reached by the excavator within the t...unnel profile or any other structure. The depth of the cut is controlled using laser measurement to automatically adjust the telescopic arm. This is essentially a demolition saw, but it can be used to cut slots and pockets in any concrete or rock structure without an access to a free edge, as the device provides the possibility to plunge into a middle of a continuous wall. In conjunction with a Cutting Optimiser that is an integral part of this attachment this new development signifies a milestone development in the afore mentioned tunneling operation, essentially eliminating the danger of collapse experienced with the application of previous methods. 10.01.2022 On the isle of Pellworm in Germany company Hagedorn used their purchased saw D5HP for its first work of cutting windmillblades. Company Hagedorn ins specialized in Dismantling old wind-energy farms. 27 Blades cut in three days, blades made of glass-fibre-carbon mixture.... Blades are max 1,4 mtr diameter and approx. 3 cm thick. Blade also supplied by Echidna, 1800 mm diameter with wide spaced teeth. No wear could be measured after this job. This application needs cooling water.

10.01.2022 https://youtu.be/PeuQDSr85Ec Echidna has developed a new rockcutting technology for excavators. It requires no water, has very long tip life and cuts many times faster than tungsten carbide saws. Echidnas new saws will cut through a wide range of materials from soft sandstone to granite. In this video a 35 tonne excavator at a sandstone quarry in Maroota is driving a triple blade version of the saw. In 12 hours it cut a total of 1500 lineal metres at 500mm depth through ironstone (very hard sandstone found throughout the Sydney basin). The cutting tips look like new.

10.01.2022 Not only for cutting rocks! Echidna excavator saws can be used in the recycling process for materials such as the steel, just by changing the blade. In this application, an Echidna D4HS high speed excavator saw was used on a 20 tonne excavator for cutting baking ovens from cement works in South Germany. The ovens have an outer layer of 15mm steel + 100mm of cast iron underneath - very difficult to cut, but made possible with 270kW power limit and 4500 rpm saw from Echidna.... Contact [email protected] for more information about this particular application.

08.01.2022 From 23-25 March 2017, Echidna dealer ARVI will be available for a chat about Echidna Earthmoving attachments. BeBoSa is a trade fair for the concrete drilling and sawing industry in Willingen, Germany.

02.01.2022 In September 2015, the Echidna dealer ARVI took a D5HP excavator saw for a demonstration to a customer. The task was to excavate a large pipe. The pipe was double with inner pipe 850mm filled with concrete and the outer 900mm. Both of the steel pipes were 10mm thick. They performed 3 cuts, 8 metres apart. The first took almost half and hour with a very cautious driver, however after practice, the third cut took 15 minutes.... The customer was very pleased with the result.

02.01.2022 Gonzalo Garcia S.A. is an excavator and demolition company which also has quarrying business. The quarry stone is calcareous and abrasive, and up to 1m thick. Echidna dealer, Fragmenta, recommended the D4HP with a blade up to 2200mm diameter for use in the quarry, and also for trenching and civil demolition works. The excavator is a Liebherr 22 tonne.... After a short time, the quarry work previously done in one day is now completed in one hour!
