09.01.2022 Introducing our Writer / Producer / Actor: Shane Palmer Its been a busy year for Shane, putting the pieces together for his debut production: Echoes of Villers-Bretonneux. Inspired by the amazing story of the battle of Villers-Bretonneux, Shane began researching & writing back in February, and is thrilled to be able to share this story, which is based on true events. ... Shanes stage debut was as Snow White in his grade 6 graduation play. He was that convincing that the audience was later shocked to discover that he was not a young girl. Rediscovering a love for the theatre at La Trobe University, Shane appeared in a number of student productions; including A Clockwork Orange at the Northcote Town Hall. Life then shifted to Manchester and the UK, and Shane began to develop a passion for film. Shane has appeared in over 20 short films, including Ruby Tuesday, which screened at the St Kilda Film Festival & the Arkansas Food and Wine Festival. Most recently Shane appeared in Loose Teeth at La Mama, and The Helendale Nude Footy Calendar at Gasworks.

07.01.2022 Introducing our Director: Robert Mark Johnson Robert is a Director, Dramaturg, Musician, Producer and Playwright based in Sydney and Melbourne. He has a Bachelor of Performing Arts from Monash University and a Masters of Directing for Performance from Melbourne University, and has studied directing at VCA and NIDA. He runs independent company Burning House for which he has directed and produced The Tragedy of Coriolanus, Ajax, Summerfolk and The Most Lamentable Roman Traged...y of Titus Andronicus. His other directing credits include When Nietzsche Wept, The Woman in Black, Closer, Ten Plagues (Loose Canon Theatre Company), The Doll Hospital (MKA: Theatre of New Writing), The Lovers (Victorian College of the Arts), Sunday in the Park With George (UMMTA) and Jesus Christ Superstar (MPAG). His opera credits as a director include Die Dreigroshenoper (Monash University) and Winterreise (Post-Opera Company). As an assistant director and intern Robert has worked with Melbourne Theatre Company, Belvoir St Theatre, Bell Shakespeare, Opera Australia, Watch This, Lyric Opera Melbourne, Lemony S Puppet Theatre, Komishe Oper, Chamber Made and MKA: Theatre of New Writing. In 2015 he was Aritst in Residence for independent outfit Post-Opera Company, and in 2016 served for a short time as MKA: Theatre of New Writings Artistic Associate (Directing / Literary). Robert has recently completed an internship in Melbourne Theatre Companys literary department, has written two plays, When Nietzsche Wept and The Age of Reason, and is currently working on his third; The Charm of a Sunflower.

Poppys Scotland do some amazing work in supporting the UK Armed Forces community. Most notably, Poppys Scotland run The Scottish Poppy Appeal. This raises over 2 million each year. This, combined with other year-round fundraising, enables Popys Scotland to provide tailored support and funding to thousands of ex-Servicemen and women as well as other vita...l services in advice, employment, mobility, respite, housing and mental health support. Poppys Scotland will be present at a number of our Edinburgh shows, so please donate what you can when you see their collectors at the end of shows. Also very pleased to announce that we have so far sold 20% of our seating capacity for the season!
