24.01.2022 Great roll up for our last crit race for our Summer Crit Series with 40 riders..

23.01.2022 Below is the Winter Road Race calendar so lock the dates in. More details to come in regard to marshaling duties.

22.01.2022 Friday night was our final Summer Crit and again there was some great racing, deserving winners, and maybe even a not so deserving winner. Whichever the case may be it was captured brilliantly by Richard Bailey. Thanks for all your work throughout the crit season Richard https://apac01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/

22.01.2022 GREAT article in today's Riv about these 3 little Champs...

22.01.2022 It was great to see 21 keen riders rock up today for our crit training ride... Safe to say there will be a few tired, sore legs tonight after today's hit out...but everyone was rapt to be out on the track again. ...I think a few of our members have been doing some secret training because they were pretty strong on the bike today...just saying!... Fingers crossed restrictions will be eased over the coming weeks so we can kick start our Winter Road Race season! But if not, we will hold another crit training ride Saturday 27 June...so we hope to see you then..

22.01.2022 The wait is nearly over!! TOMORROW - Friday 6 November - our Friday evening social crit rides kick off!! Rego from 5.45pm with riding to start from 6.15pm. Depending on numbers, we are looking at having 4 grades.... Just keep an eye on the traffic & the time it may take to get over the bridge. It might be easier & quicker to ride across the bridge. And remember to have your bridge border pass ready. As part of our Clubs Covid safe plan, all participants will be required to sign in. We ask that all riders abide by social distancing & if you are not feeling well, please do not attend. The Club will provide hand sanitiser, however, all participants are also asked to bring their own.

22.01.2022 Our weekly morning bunch rides, Saturday racing and Sunday group rides were all great ways for a catch up, chat & laugh with other riders, but the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, physical distancing & isolation has unfortunately put a stop to our social interactions amongst riders. Apart from us all putting on a little extra weight due to the lack of exercise...it can also make us feel anxious, stressed & lonely. Around Echuca/Moama we're permitted to ride in pairs so why not text or phone a fellow rider to arrange a quick ride, maybe even go with someone different each weekend just so you're catching up with other mates. It's a great way to catch up with a people & just check in on how they're going...

21.01.2022 ....AWWWW....would you get a look at this rough, hairy looking crew!! This was day 20 of what not shaving looks like! Bit of grey poking through there boys.. Its all for a good cause - Movember - raising awareness of men's health issues & suicide prevention. With only 10 days to go (thankfully says Heather) who is going to have the best/worst looking moustache...?... Francis Lias is raising money for this great cause so if you'd like to support him, click the link below. https://au.movember.com/mospace/13373512

20.01.2022 What a great way to finish off the year 2020 with 40 riders joining us last night for our Christmas crit & BBQ evening. All 4 Grades had 10 riders racing which was fantastic to see and provided for some great racing. D Grade started off strongly & it was a matter of who could maintain the pace & hold on. On the bell lap turning the corner on to the back straight, Luke decided to do some 'cross cycling' in the rough but somehow bunny hopped back onto the track & still managed ...to cross the line in second behind Max. C Grade saw the group working together for half the race before we saw the 3 young teenage boys starting to pull away from the group working together to form quite a gap from the pack. With each passing lap they continued to increase their lead & it came down to who had the strongest sprint to cross the finish line first with Jack winning the honours. B Grade saw the group stick together for the majority of the 30 minutes. At times riders would make an attack but they were chased down by the group & all coming back together. As the bell rang Clint & Aaron found some extra energy & made a sprint for the final lap but it was the little angry ant that was able to hold onto the sprint & cross the line first. A Grade was fast paced right from the whistle & stayed that way for the full 35 minutes! The high standard of racing saw a few riders drop off & some even pulling out of the race. With only a few laps remaining, it was clear the race was between just 2 riders. The bell had rang & as we saw them coming onto the final straight & with only about 30 meters remaining, both riders were up out of their saddle making a sprint for the line & it was Trent crossing first in less than half a wheel length over Jay. The spectators definitely got to witness a great race. The placegetters for each grade were: A Grade 1st - Trent Stevenson 2nd - Jay Overvliet 3rd - Aaron Mulkearns B Grade 1st - Aaron McMaster 2nd - Clint Flanigan 3rd - Cameron Smith C Grade 1st - Jack Edwards 2nd - Chhay Williams 3rd - Lenny Griffiths D Grade 1st - Max Trewhella 2nd - Luke Kenna 3rd - Melanie Smolenaars The year 2020 has been a trying one for all of us. Towards the end of this year when we were able to resume crit training & then racing for our final 2 races, the club have been rapt to see more youngsters, female riders & new faces joining in our events and we are excited for what 2021 could bring for our club. EMCC wish everyone a happy & safe Christmas & New Year..

20.01.2022 A reminder that every day is a day to start a conversation that could change a life. ASK the question, check in on your mates, even the ones that you think are doing ok.

19.01.2022 This Friday night - 18 December - is our Christmas crit race. A BBQ, refreshments & lots of Christmas cheer to follow straight after racing. EVERYONE is welcome...so bring the family along for a fun night... Rego - 5.45pm... Cost - $10 C & D Grades - 6.15pm A & B Grades - 6.45pm See more

18.01.2022 Our new club polo shirts have arrived - as modeled by our President Ray - and don't they look schmicko! For the people that ordered a shirt, payment can be done via EFT: BSB No: 633-000 Acc No: 101308260... Cost: $40.00 Ref: surname eg: Hamilton Hopefully throughout the covid-19 restrictions you are still out on your bikes riding or giving your zwift a good workout. Fingers crossed restrictions are eased soon so we can get back to some club activities..

17.01.2022 GREAT NEWS!! With the easing of restrictions that take effect from today, we are now able to ride in a group of 10... Riders will still need to adhere to the non-contact, density limits and 1.5 metre distancing guidelines. Our Winter Road Race Season may have been cancelled due to coronavirus but the Club is looking forward to our upcoming Summer Crit Series. So get back out on your bikes & get race ready for summer racing. PS - there might be a little friendly rivalry between our Echuca riders and those 'others' over the other side of the bridge..

17.01.2022 We were still not able to 'race' but what a cracking evening we had tonight at our crit track! We had 35 riders come along to join in our ride and we were rapt to welcome half a dozen new faces/riders along. With 8 riders in both D & C Grades, 7 in B Grade & 12 in A Grade, it provided strong numbers for each group. Tonight A Grade was the strongest and most competitive group we've had for a while & it was great viewing for the spectators to sit back and watch the fierce pac...e & standard of riding they were setting. The first across the line tonight were: A - Chase Costello-Manning B - Aaron McMaster C - Joel Pike D - Claire Goodman Tonights ride was proudly supported by McDonalds with their very own Scott Moller riding in B Grade. On the bell lap Scott was looking super duber strong, BUT, coming onto the final bend...he went straight ahead..into the garden... For that, he won the most Agressive Rider Award.. With our next crit set for Friday 4 December, we are excited to say we are able to race again on this night!! ...stay tuned for more details.

16.01.2022 Great article about our life member and current president - Raymond Hamilton

14.01.2022 LAST CHANCE ! EMCC // JUNIOR "LEARN TO RACE" PROGRAM The second (and last) week of our Junior Learn to Race Pilot program is on this Friday 4.30-5.45pm. All juniors welcome! The program aims to teach children the fundamentals and skills of racing in a fun, safe, and healthy environment. A great platform to improve bike handling skills and develop the confidence to race.... The program is designed for children who can already ride a bike and want to progress to racing or simply learn/improve their cycling skills. The Program will help them make the transition from riding their bike recreationally to the world of bike racing and life-long fitness. Alex enjoyed the junior pilot program so much that straight afterwards he put a savings plan in place so we can work on saving for a road bike and gear to race with! He’s very excited for the next training day and to be able to get into racing with the valuable knowledge and practical experience behind him to help him succeed. Lisa, mother of Alex 11yo. Our next Learn to Race Session is THIS Friday 26 March 4:30pm-5:45pm. Email [email protected] to register your child's interest and RSVP here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2811925422411161/

14.01.2022 We're waiting anxiously on the return to cycling in Echuca Moama! For the moment, our McDonald's Crit Festival 2020 remains on hold! In the meantime, a hugh Hi-5 to Moama Bowling Club for their ongoing support of our club and event.... Despite the COVID restrictions, the crew Moama Bowling Club continue to provide take away meals, online cooking classes and supporting delivering to Echuca Neighbourhood House and other community groups! What an awesome community we live in! Support those who support cycling!

13.01.2022 Update from Cycling Victoria

12.01.2022 WARNING to all riders thinking of driving across the bridge to the crit tonight... The Riverine Herald have just posted the following: Failing scanning devices at the NSW border checkpoint are causing traffic delays on the Echuca-Moama Bridge.... Easier to ride across everyone! It took me 1 hour 7 minutes to drive over..

11.01.2022 With the return to racing on Friday night, we also saw the return of the brilliant camera work of Richard Bailey. Click on the link and enjoy... Thanks Richard! https://eur06.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/ It was great to see four junior riders and three women finish on the podium across all grades. When you look at the numbers for the night this representation would suggest the "blokes" really need to step up!!

11.01.2022 When the idea of the McDonald's Crit Festival was considered, Courtney and Scott Moller at McDonald's jumped at the chance to support our event! As frustrating as postponing our event is, we're so appreciative of the support of our local sponsors! Despite the COVID restrictions, McDonald's continues to provide an awesome touch-free service and open 7 days.... Support those who support cycling! Thanks, Scott and Courtney

11.01.2022 It's been over 4 months since we were last out on the crit track so it was great to see 32 keen riders come along tonight for our first social crit evening. And it was terrific to see some new young juniors joining in for the first time and enjoying themselves on the track. They were definitely giving the older riders a run for their money. With no prize money being awarded at the moment, we are giving different awards and tonight's award was the Determination Award which w...as given to Max Trewhella. Tonight was Max's first crit ride but you wouldn't have known it, there were 10 in his group and not only was he a strong rider but he rode with confidence and was taking turns at the front and setting a solid pace. Well done Max and we hope to see you back. Hopefully in the coming weeks/months we can get back into our racing format but in the meantime we will continue with our fortnightly Friday evening social crit rides with our next ride set for Friday 20 November. A reminder that our AGM is being held next Monday 9 November so we hope you can join us. Please consider joining our great committee for 20/21 and being a part of the future of the club.

10.01.2022 After a decade of hosting 'Le taste le tour' for our club, Dave & Sal at The Caledonian Hotel Echuca continue to support the McDonald's Crit Festival 2020! Whilst the Cal remains closed during COVID, check out Latte Lane (right through the drive thru) for coffee, breakfast & lunch!

10.01.2022 Just 1 week to go! That’s right, our road season kicks off next week with the Rich Golf Club Ivan and Lorraine Collings series Marshalling duties: As per previous years, we appreciate the input of our members and their volunteering for marshalling during the year.... Please note - if you cannot marshal, please organise a swap - if you bring a replacement person, this can free you up to ride. I’m new to this, what do I have to do? Generally our volunteers will - assist in setup and registration - marshal on a corner during the event Full of explain action and training is provided by our allocated committee member on the day! Stay tuned for more info!

10.01.2022 If you ordered one of the new club polo shirts, H will have them at the crit training today for collection. Payment by cash or via EFT: BSB No: 633-000 Acc No: 101308260... Cost: $40.00 Ref: surname eg: Hamilton Hopefully there are a few riders coming across to test their legs out around the crit track..

09.01.2022 Friday 18 December!! Christmas crit & BBQ night. Come along & join in for our last crit for 2020! A BBQ, refreshments & some Christmas cheer to follow straight after racing.... Bring the family along....

09.01.2022 It was another great turn up today with 23 riders coming along for our crit training ride. It was great to have 5 female riders join in today mixing it with the boys and showing them what they've got...girls rock! Cycling Victoria have advised that we can start 'racing' towards the end of July...yahhhh...so fingers crossed our Winter Road Race season will kick off by the end of July. We'll keep you posted! But until then we will hold another crit training ride Saturday 11 July. Hope to see you then..

08.01.2022 With the new, tighter border control measures the NSW Government announced earlier this week, it has put a divide between our twin town communities and unfortunately also effects our little cycling club... Our weekly morning bunch rides and Sunday morning group ride may have a few less riders from now on BUT let's not let this stop us from getting out on our bike and pushing out the kms! I'm sure some of our NSW guys will arrange some group rides so stay tuned. Our Winter Road Race Season and crit training rides may also be put on hold for the time being but once restrictions are eased/lifted and we are able to start racing again, the club hope to kick start some races later on in the year. But in the meantime, stay safe and do what you can to help stop the spread..

08.01.2022 For years St Annes Winery, Echuca & Moama have supported the EMCC! This year, they were one of the first to lock in the ongoing support as name sponsor of the Gunbarrel handicap. Due to COVID, the Gubarrel has been holstered for 2020 but we are thankful of the ongoing support of Richard, Leo and the crew at St. Annes :)

07.01.2022 With the new restrictions in place with the border crossing for Echuca/Moama unfortunately our crit training ride that was set to be held this Saturday will have to be cancelled... HOPEFULLY this is only for a short period and we are all back riding together SOON.

06.01.2022 Happy happy Easter from the EMCC Another block of entries overnight has us over 50% capacity with a fortnight to go! With riders represented from Bendigo, Shepparton, Cobram, Brunswick, Blackburn and Hawthorn, this is going to be a hot hot day of racing!... Don’t forget to bring the kids with music, jumping castle and facepainting throughout the day! For our local riders, don’t wait till the last minute for this one, click below and secure your entry! 06.01.2022 HeyHo... local Emcc riders! We’re closing in on 40 entries with 3 weeks to go! But..... over 60% of these are from out of town! Don’t miss you spot and enter today.... The handicapping looks consistent with our normal crits and these will be scrutinised by Aaron McMaster!! A bit shoutout to Moama Bowling Club, support smaller clubs like ours for over 20 years! Stay tuned for our early bird draw later this weekend

05.01.2022 Movember - growing moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer & men's suicide. Righteo guys...put your razors away for the next 30 days & lets see who can grow the best/worst moustache! To encourage you guys to get behind this cause, a female judging panel has been formed & there will be a prize given..... Patchy / hairy / lopsided / wild / ugly - whatever you grow will save a bro!

05.01.2022 WELL...isn't in great to be out of COVID-19 restrictions and be able to be back out on the course racing! 8 months...that is how long ago we last raced! And what a fantastic night we had with 37 super excited riders coming out to race tonight. Once again it was great to see new faces & awesome to see members we haven't seen throughout the year due to the restrictions with travelling.... C & D kicked off the night's racing with 10 riders in both Grades. Its great to see so many young kids & female riders out on the course enjoying themselves on the bike getting stronger each time. B Grade was next & even thou there were only 6 riders it was raced at a high standard for the 30 minutes. A Grade had a strong field of 11 riders & it was full throttle from the get go. It's safe to say Trent Stevenson hasn't lost any form over the lockdown period lapping the group with 7 minutes remaining. It was great for the spectators to sit back & watch the master at work. And then there is Costa....after crossing the line in 4th he wanted a bit of the attention/limelight so...he took a detour 'off the bitumen onto the gravel centimetres from the tree'.....spectactle! PS - photographic evidence below.. Placegetters tonight for each grade were: A Grade 1st - Trent Stevenson 2nd - Scott Moller 3rd - Levi Hone B Grade 1st - Craig Sloper 2nd - Eloise Vaughan 3rd - Cameron Smith C Grade 1st - Liam Clohosey 2nd - Chhay Williams 3rd - Alice Gronow D Grade 1st - Max Trewhella 2nd - Luke Kenna 3rd - Georgie Jenkins Our last race for 2020 will be Friday 18 December. More details to follow

02.01.2022 As part of the Community Open Night at the Moama Recreation Reserve this Friday night, the EMCC crit track will be one of the venues on display. EMCC were fortunate enough to receive funding through State and Federal Funding programs for the hot mixing of our crit track and upgrades around our facilities. So to showcase our wonderful facilities, we are inviting ALL riders to come across to join in our crit social event & make it great viewing for spectators and to show what EMCC have to offer. If you're unable to ride, we'd still love you to come along on the night. Bring the family along too...the more the merrier...

02.01.2022 Track swept & ready for some cycling action tonight...
