Painted in L’ESSENTIEL liquid carbon with chartreuse and grey to freshen up the tired looking interior. Wallpaper is from the Ivory Tower in Nundah. $295 for the pair.

17.01.2022 Just a caution about your sewing machine needles. We are seeing quite a few machines coming in with problems caused by a budget brand of needles being sold at... some department stores. These needles are made so poorly that they will actually cause your machine to not sew properly. To demonstrate - the needle on the left is a Schmetz brand needle size 80 and on the right is the department store needle size 70. This size needle should be finer than the Schmetz, and as you can see, not only is it thicker, but it’s also longer! Other needles in the same department-store-pack are made backwards or are bent. Consumers are purchasing these needles in good faith, and then spending hours trying to find the cause of their sewing machine problem, all the while certain that it can’t be their machine needle because it’s a brand-new pack. And the worst part about this is that newbies to sewing, who are keen to get involved in this hobby that we all love so much, think that the problems that they are experiencing are caused by them doing something wrong, and with a hit to their confidence, they just give up. No matter if you have an enormous machine that you use every day, or a small one, that you get out every now and then, we recommend using brand-quality needles like Schmetz, that you can purchase from all good sewing stores. 10.01.2022 We have quite a mixture of style and age with our new stock this week. Alongside the bar stools are two old milking stools which have been made from old packing boxes. We also have this awesome red vintage industrial crate on castors. ($85).

09.01.2022 The old school desk. Painted in l’essentielbotanics liquid carbon over a base of scarlet. Rubbed back to expose scarlet on edges. VW stencil has been applied then sealed with a top coat and wax. Liquid carbon is the perfect black to use. So black, so smooth, so easy to apply. #lessentielbotanics #liquidcarbon #gottoloveblack

02.01.2022 Our shop was looking rather empty after good sales in the last couple of weeks. New stock put in today includes this lovely kitchen table with naturally chippy paint on the legs. ($280). Treated with L’ESSENTIEL hemp oil and wax to condition the timber and stabilise the chippiness. It has worked so well. Also just in are these 2 vinyl chairs ($60 each) - so comfortable to sit on, and our beautiful black tall chair ($75), painted in L’ESSENTIEL Botanics liquid carbon and black waxed. This is absolutely the best black paint I have used - so black, so smooth, so easy to use.
