25.01.2022 Christianity has a long history in Bulgaria stretching all the way back to the missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul. Unlike other Balkan countries, Bulgaria has a strong tradition of religious tolerance. In recent years, the Orthodox Church and Islam have lost ground to secularism. Evangelical Christianity, while still small in percentage terms, is growing rapidly, especially amongst Roma. 20.01.2022 Portugal has been neglected in missionary thinking in the past and still tends to be forgotten today. During the great missionary expansion of the early 19th century, evangelism was never attempted in regard to Portugal, even though Britain had strong commercial links and a military alliance. 16.01.2022 Recently, we had the privilege of having Mark and Gina who are serving in Malta come and share with us during our office devotions in Sydney. Philippians 4:4-6 has been a source of both challenge and comfort as they had to be patient in God's timing in their journey back to Australia and as they reconnect with their support base here. Would you pray that they can rest in Him, that they will continue to trust God to provide everything that they need and that God will raise up new partners who will stand beside them in the proclamation of Jesus in Malta. 05.01.2022 Portugal | Alex We are tracking about 5000 to 6000 new cases of COVID every day. At the moment all intensive care beds in hospitals are full and the health system is looking at setting up temporary hospitals in stadiums. I am still aware that God is active in this world, and his purposes are still being worked out. Yet at the same time I know he is deeply concerned and cares for the world and has not abandoned it. As I read through the Psalms during this period, I am constantly seeing this.
