24.01.2022 Our Year 7 2022 students joined us for an Amazing Race and Family Sausage Sizzle on Monday and Tuesday of this week. This was a great way to meet new friends, student leaders and staff and learn new things about the campus while having lots of fun. 24.01.2022 It’s finally all come to an end! Last Thursday was the last formal day for our Year 12 students. Students celebrated with a picnic lunch. We wish them luck for their upcoming exams. We are proud of all of you.

22.01.2022 Recently Toby Wight (Year 11, SPC) participated in the AltonaCity Sc fundraiser to support families of the East Gippsland United FC, who were unable to pay for their children’s 2020 soccer fee due to the devastating bushfires. A few initiatives were to run but due to COVID-19 they were unable to take place. Toby wanted to help out the cause and put his hand up to shave his curly locks. Due this to this initiative Toby raised $1,339.05 for the affected families. Well done Toby!

21.01.2022 Congratulations to the Class of 2020. It’s been a tough year but you’ve finally made it. This year Graduation was held at the College. Families were given grazing platters and were able to view the ceremony online. We are proud of all of you and we wish you the best of luck for the future.
20.01.2022 Aboriginals and Torres Straight Islanders were Australia’s first explores, artists, athletes, teachers, diplomats, philosophers, botanists, astronomers, farmers and soldiers. This week the students have been learning more about the amazing stories of the world’s oldest civilisation.
20.01.2022 On Wednesday 19 August Patrick Ambrose, Taj Adhial, Samuel Kennedy and Jake Cutajar represented the College at the ACC - Associated Catholic Colleges Debating Competition. Congratulations to the boys on coming in at second place in the Intermediate Division. Jake as team captain showed excellent leadership and was named 'Best Speaker' in the final deciding round. Special mention must also go to Mr Nicolas on being a fantastic and committed coach.
20.01.2022 At the completion of RU OK week our students wanted to highlight the importance of mental for not just one week but every day. This video is a discussion between SPC Sports Captain Connor Brown and House Leader Mr Velardo on the importance of our diet and how it can impact our health. Mr Veldardo has a certificate in Human Nutrition and is currently the host of SugarByHalf podcast where people can get additional health advice. 20.01.2022 Today we invited fathers/ father figures of our students to an extended Homeroom. In the session we shared a prayer, our gratefulness to our dads and talked about what we intend to do this Fathers Day. 15.01.2022 The theme for Book Week 2020 is Curious Creatures, Wild Minds. Year 7 English classes visited the libraries to browse and borrow books. All students both on campus and remote learning were invited to compete in two online quizzes with lots of cool prizes to win. It has been wonderful to see our libraries so busy again and the happy faces of students who can borrow all the new titles that arrived during remote learning.
15.01.2022 As part of our Catholic Education Week celebrations, 80 staff and students made a Camino for Caritas pilgrimage from each campus to Queen of Peace parish where they had a liturgy. We stand in solidarity with those in improvised conditions who need to walk long distances every day for education, food, water, healthcare or safety. #catholiceducationweek #caritas #queenofpeace #caringforothers

14.01.2022 Are you aware of how much sugar you are consuming? Mr Velardo, Connor Brown (Year 12) and Deon Mitrevski (Year 8)created this display to educate us on the sugar content of popular food items. There are plenty of other healthier alternatives we can have instead. Check out the display to learn more about sugar intake, tips to reduce our consumption and suggested food swaps. The Year 8s are currently learning about the impacts of sugar in their Healthy Living classes and this compliments their learnings.

13.01.2022 Yesterday seventeen of our Year 8 - 12 students participated in the online ACC - Associated Catholic Colleges Open Chess Tournament. Congratulations to our students and coach Mr Park on winning the Division Two ACC Open Chess Competition. Chess itself requires problem solving, strategic thinking and patience, this was even more challenging as the game was conducted online. The top players of the College were Lachlan Brearley (Year 10) and Martin La (Year 12) winning 6 out of 7 games.

11.01.2022 Todays activity for Multicultural Week had our students proudly wear their cultural dress. We have many staff and students from different countries and cultures and this makes the College unique.
10.01.2022 Congratulations to Jordan Gasim (Year 11, SPC) on being crowned King of McCluskey. Jordan is the third student to achieve this outstanding award. He has demonstrated tremendous empathy, drive, leadership, and willingness to make the House as great as it can be. The commitment he shows to his peers, school and House is an inspiration, and we are very grateful for his dedication and positive attitude. In order to receive this recognition students need to win four students of the week across their time at the College.
10.01.2022 Yesterday was Remembrance Day and due to current restrictions we were unable to attend our traditional service. This year our Year 9 Humanities students prepared recordings of commemoration services for classes and staff to partake in. We honour the suffering and sacrifice of the men and women who served abroad and those who remained at home.

10.01.2022 Last week we had various activities including joke of the day and fun facts to celebrate Science Week. Our Science teachers created a virtual escape room for our students to participate in. The Room called Deep Blue is where students are in a submarine hunting for a Colossal Squid which has never been in the wild. The submarine looses powers and the students need to solve the clues to the generator before they run out of air. Congratulations to our winners. 06.01.2022 Year 7 students during remote learning used the design process to investigate a national monument of their choice. Students needed to research and develop design options. They then made a model using alternative materials such as balsa, match sticks and or cardboard. Check out Darcy Ianna’s construction of the Eiffel Tower.

01.01.2022 Yesterday marked the first day back on campus for our Year 7, 11 and 12 students. As students walked into school we asked them to write Welcome in their language. This small gesture also marked the beginning of Multicultural Week at the College.
