19.01.2022 On our toddle we looked at different structures...using mathematical language, comparing sizes, and colour, using some awesome describing words and our excellent observation skills. We noticed that different materials were used We recognised some familiar signs at our local shops, and that numbers are everywhere, containing information to help us. Number 4 was "everywhere"

Special credit goes to the stars of this wee video, they've been a joy to spend time with, make memories with, and learn from & with Huge thanks to all our parents, extended families & carers for their continued and awesome support ... On behalf of us all at ECN, please have a very merry Christmas and a wonderful new year!

09.01.2022 Our afternoon was spent running, splashing, climbing, crawling, swinging on trees, spinning and investigating All this fun helps with our gross & fine motor skills, helps to build our core strength, enabling us to sit & have better posture

09.01.2022 If any parents or carers have sky Q and have voice controls. On Christmas Eve if you press the voice button and ask "Where is Santa" A map of the world will come up showing the children where he is! Something a little different. pass it on

08.01.2022 We took a quick walk to have a look for numbers and local Christmas decorations. We paid a visit to this wonderfully decorated house for a photo op! Thanks Heather Erskine Community Garden

06.01.2022 We are engineers! We had a good chat about engineering, how the process starts with a concept or an idea, inspired by a need to solve a problem, or from seeing something and wanting to create something different (more suited to you, smaller, bigger, better etc). From there we might make a drawing of our idea, or get stuck in, and how we can make changes and adapt it as we go. ... We love to build and create, and this offers the opportunity for us to collaborate, working together, sharing ideas and language. "This is a dinosaur carrying car" Leo "It's a tiny castle" Olivia "A dinosaur for Leo. That's it's head" Jacob "A tower. I'm bigger" Emily "I've made a car racer with steps" Skyla "I'm building a washing machine" Tom "I made a rocket and it's going to blast off. I'm not as tall as that." Jacob #engineeringweek

01.01.2022 "I can walk here because I have lava protection" "I can too, S gave me some" "I'm making it safe for my friends to walk"... "I have lava boots" "I can't walk on the lava, I'll melt" "Help me help me I can't get over there" "It's not safe, it's not safe!" Imagination, co-operation, problem solving, making connections, resilience, risk assessing, language development, communication skills, team work and so much more.....inspired, created and led by children
