22.01.2022 Turtle nesting season has started in the Whitsundays! We’re so excited to welcome all the hatchlings who will swim in our beautiful waters soon. From November to December the beautiful marine turtles will come to our shores and dig a safe nest for their eggs. It will take 6 to 8 weeks before they hatch, so being careful will be crucial for their survival and reproduction. Our turle friends will be grateful for us being mindful on the beach. #turtle #marineconservation #totherescue #whitsundays #greatbarrierreef

12.01.2022 Remember green sea turtle Cosette? A week after Cosette found her way back to the ocean, the beautiful Hawksbill turtle Bob spread out his flippers as well! With the team of Mackay Turtle Watch, we brought Bob after having recovered from float - back to where he was found: into the Mackay Waters. Another Hawksbill has already taken Bob’s tank. The gorgeous juvenile Hawksbill Donatella was found at Mackay suffering from float as well. Together with the adult Logger...head Corkie the team of Mackay Turtle Watch took them on a journey to our turtle shelter. We will feed them with delicious squid and heaps of love. Whereas Corkie seems to be weak, covered in algae and barnacles, Donatella started eating once in care, a hopeful sign towards full recovery! #turtle #mackay #whitsundays #marinelife #turtlethursday #conservation #biodiversity #animallove #roadtrip #queensland #australia #ecobargecleanseas #Whitsundays #Islandlife #paradise #savethereef #turtlelover #freedom #ocean #oceanhealth #greatbarrierreef

11.01.2022 Someone is keen to discover what’s outside her tank! The gorgeous Hawksbill Donatella will be released in Mackay on Thursday. The beautiful juvenile needed only 6 weeks in care to recover from her float condition. Good luck on your onwards journey, Donatella! #Turtle #discover #newhorizon #journey #travelturtle #turtleshelter #Ecobarge #Whitsundays #Mackay

06.01.2022 Good to Go! After a short time in our turtle rescue centre, the great green turtles Annette & Fisher are leaving us . Both juveniles were suffering from float when they were brought in. On top of that, Fisher was dehydrated, and Annette was malnourished. Thanks to the magic healing hands of our turtle carers, they are ready to go! Wish Fisher and Annette good luck when they return to the open ocean tomorrow, and join us at the Seaforth Esplanade around 11am, Thursday 15th October. #EcoBarge #Turtle #Turtlelife #turtelove #whitsundays #Greatbarrierreef #naturelover #wildlife #conservation #changetheworld #changeyourmind #holidayherethisyear #Australia #airliebeach #goodtogo
