13.01.2022 To thank our presenters, yesterday the #Ecocity2017 team were joined by students from Footscray City College to plant trees in Newell's Paddock in Melbourne's west. Far better than presenters gifts, we're helping to rejuvenate the wetlands around the Maribynong River! Newell's Paddock in Footscray has been a heavily industrialised site since early settlement. It was formerly a night soil dump, then cattle yard and abattoir. Being only 6km to the convention centre where the Summit is being held, it is exciting to help regenerate a wetland in an extremely urban city environment. At this site, our funding has been able to contribute 600 shrubs and ground covers.
