19.01.2022 Q) What is the best time to plant a tree?! A) The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago Q) What is the second best time?... A) NOW! . . . . . #treeplanting #tree #trees #agriculture #farmland #climate #climatchange

17.01.2022 From the WWF ~ How regenerative agriculture can help farmlands thrive and improve ecosystems. The impressive solution that is ready to make an impact to the climate change we cannot avoid. Healthy soil is essential to the future of food production but our planet is losing 24 billion tonnes of fertile soil every year. North Dakota farmer Gabe Brown practices regenerative farming which includes principles and practices to improve soil and promote diversity. By planting a mix ...of crops, using minimal chemicals, and letting animals graze freely, his family farm is thriving and so are the lands around it. See the video here: https://youtu.be/N_NtNyvOyRM How can you help us? Regenerating farmland and planting trees will help our farmers and capture carbon. The EcoForce movement is here to work with you to improve your farming processes, invest in your farm improvement program and support you as you embrace the Regen Ag philosophy. We want to work with you to plant trees, qualify for carbon credits, learn about the Regen Ag processes, improving soils to improve production rates and reduce effects of natural disasters such as drought. . . . #regen #agriculture #trees #climatechange #carbon #regenerativeagriculture WWF WWF-Australia

13.01.2022 Will anyone benefit from global warming? In certain ways, yes. Countries with huge, frozen hinterlands, including Canada and Russia, could see some economic benefits as global warming makes agriculture, mining and the like more possible in those places. It is perhaps no accident that the Russians have always been reluctant to make ambitious climate commitments, and President Vladimir V. Putin has publicly questioned the science of climate change.... However, both of those countries could suffer enormous damage to their natural resources; escalating fires in Russia are already killing millions of acres of forests per year. Moreover, some experts believe countries that view themselves as likely winners from global warming will come to see the matter differently once they are swamped by millions of refugees from less fortunate lands. #climatechange #environment #globalwarming #climateaction #eco #trees #forests #cliamte #agriculture #mining

11.01.2022 'April Fuel' The proposed shift of the Earths Axis... 1986 The British Department of Energy ran a full-page ad in the Times and Guardian newspapers announcing that the earth's axis would be shifted at 11:02 a.m. that day in order to warm Britain's climate and conserve energy. ... The advertisement, which reportedly cost 18,000 to place, included a map of how the earth would look after the shift. At the bottom of the ad appeared the phrase 'April Fuel.' The Department later explained that it placed the ad in order to provoke thought about energy conservation. However, the ad received some criticism. Mr Stan Orme, shadow energy secretary, remarked, "This is an outrageous expenditure of public money. Let us hope this is the last time we see such expensive nonsense." Only until lunchtime. http://hoaxes.org/af_database/permalink/earths_axis_shifted #aprilfoolsday #aprilfools #climateact #truebutnottrue

08.01.2022 Surprising Fact About Trees Trees soak up carbon from the atmosphere, provide a home to wildlife and even improve our mental well-being. But did you know they can also "talk" to each other, and send out distress signals when under attack? Where would you have seen Trees under stress?!... http://ow.ly/9sAD50EaJdO #trees #climatechange #climatecrisis #environment #climate #treeplanting

07.01.2022 Humanity destroys its forests and calls it a loss Since Forests are one major category of ecosystems which support life on earth, the United Nations has declared the period 2021 to 2030 as the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Forests hold the carbon in the soil and this is essentially what is needed on a grand scale. We found more interesting facts in this article: http://ow.ly/PLkH50EaIZc... By taking action with Ecoforce Global we have the resources to uptake tree planting at a grand scale. We want you to come on board with us! 06.01.2022 Feed People and the Soil Starve Landfills and Incinerators With the introduction of a Bill in the USA, Maryland has an opportunity to help move forward efforts like Baltimore’s through the introduction of a HB-264, Organics Recycling and Waste Diversion bill, which would require sites that produce more than two tons of food waste per week to separate and reduce, donate, or recycle surplus food and food scraps.... This is encouraging! More in the article here: https://www.nrdc.org//feed-people-and-soil-starve-landfill #carbon #recycle #sustainable #environment #organic #compost

03.01.2022 Catalysts for Change These successes have come after years of applying regenerative practices. We want to include the vision in case studies which are a testament to the determination and tenacity of farmers who are truly Australian agriculture’s hero's.... Queensland farmers, Shane and Shan Joyce came to Dukes Plain in 1982 from a background in organic farming. Over the years they adopted new management practices: ceasing the use of fire, retaining timber and valuing regrowth, prioritising pasture diversity and native pastures, and employing low production costs and inputs. In 1993 a radical change was made to move the grazing system on Dukes Plain, to a cell grazing system across almost 100 paddocks. Focus moved from the production bottom line to a measure of kilograms of beef produced per hectare of available pasture. Production increases were experienced within two years of adopting planned grazing management. In addition to cell grazing, outcomes were further enhanced by the later application of organic and biodynamic methods. http://ow.ly/A5Dh50DAbvP What do you find interesting in the Dukes Plane improvements? . . . . #queensland #qld #qlder #farming #agriculture #farmer #regen #regenerativeagriculture #climatechange #biodynamic

02.01.2022 The deeper he looked, the more potential he saw.... Van der Hoeven is a co-founder of the Weather Makers, a Dutch firm of holistic engineers with a plan to regreen the Sinai peninsula the small triangle of land that connects Egypt to Asia. Do you think this is possible?... ‘Our biggest challenge?' He says "Lack of imagination’: the scientists turning the desert green! 01.01.2022 The book we can't put down this week is... Call of the Reed Warbler! Australian Author, Charles Massy (grandfather of regen), writes his journey in a book that calls out to the farmers what is needed on the land.... Author and radical farmer Charles Massy explores transformative and regenerative agriculture and the vital connection between our soil and our health. It is a story of how a grassroots revolution - a true underground insurgency - can save the planet, help turn climate change around and build healthy people and healthy communities, pivoting significantly on our relationship with growing and consuming food. What inspires you the most about this legend of the land? If you haven't already, buy yourself a copy of this book: Call of the Reed Warbler: https://amzn.to/36PRYmy #regenerativeagriculture #regen #climatechange #agriculture #farming #farmers
