09.01.2022 A great reminder that we can only ever do our best, and right now, our best may look very different to what it did a few months ago Repost @ourecofriendlylife Its perfectly OK to not be zero waste at this time! We are living in unprecedented times, and you can realistically only do what you can at a time like this. We miss our bulk section, our farmers markets, and our local bakery. But these are all closed. We have no real way of accessing these places, and no opti...on for delivery as we live so rurally. (If you are still able to buy from local, small businesses, then absolutely support them as they need you more than ever right now.) So realistically for us, we can only visit our local supermarket, so that is what we are doing. Simply being able to have safe access to a well stocked supermarket and the finances to buy food is an absolute privilege. If you are having to buy things in plastic right now, it does not mean that you do not value living zero waste anymore. Instead it means that right now, you are prioritising the health of yourself, your family and every other human on this planet over being zero waste. And that is what is truly important! We know this is only temporary. Well be back at our bulk store, local farmers market and local bakery before we know it, and were looking forward to that! Were all in this together, so lets stand strong together and well get through this! Its a time to be more understanding than ever, and not to criticise. Everyone is doing the best they possibly can and that is what counts See more

07.01.2022 The holiday season is behind us but it feels hard to get back to business as usual given the current crisis in our beautiful home country, Australia. The loss of human life, wildlife, habitats, and properties is beyond comprehension Its heartwarming to see all the businesses promoting product purchase campaigns to raise funds for the response effort. We have already made a donation to @wireswildliferescue , and for us that will be ongoing. Its the least we can do.... If you are able to donate weve listed below some of the many organisations in need right now. If you arent able to donate, you can still make a difference by sharing this message and being mindful of where you spend your money in the future. Individually you do have power to choose the kind of world you want to live in and collectively that can create change.
