23.01.2022 Physical termite barrier installation To protect the house from termites we installed a physical barrier to all the perimeter walls. This is an effective subterranean termite management system that will protect your house for at least 50 years. With a correctly built barrier, termites will be unable to get into your property without climbing out into an area of the property that is clearly visible. This gives you the opportunity to call an expert to exterminate them.

16.01.2022 Site aerial view before the brickwork stage Look how nice the site view is from above before the start of the brickwork stage We have already laid the bricks on site and installed insulation inside the cavity. Over the next few days we'll show you the different steps involved

12.01.2022 Slab marking and steel column installation The first step of the brickwork stage is to transfer the footprint of the plans to the slab. We do this by marking all the walls, openings and recesses. To do this we require an accurate plan with all the information, a tape measure, marker, chalk line and a square tool. ... It's a very important step to speed up the construction process and avoid problems. This project also required the installation of steel columns to support tee bars and part of roof in the living area.

08.01.2022 Internal leaf Brickwork For this project the clients asked to build their home with double bricks walls. Full masonry walls, or double brick walls, are two parallel walls built next to each other with a gap in between, known as a cavity.... Each individual wall is called a leaf of brickwork. The two 'leaves of brickwork' (inner and outer walls), are connected together using 'brick ties'. These are metal straps that connect the walls by laying them horizontally in the mortar joints. Brick ties are metal straps that are laid the horizontal mortar joints in the brickwork across both leaves. Each horizontal layer of bricks is called a course. Most of the walls of the rooms in this project have 31 courses of brick, and are more than 2.6 meters height. For this project the cavity will be 90mm wide and after building the internal leaf, 60mm thick insulation panels will be installed before building the external leaf. When completing the brickwork, the bricklaying team starts with the rear and works towards the front of the building.
