20.01.2022 Baldivis Fire Update Were OK! I am relieved to advise that the ecoJarrah South Woodyard located on Wilkinson Road in Baldivis has NOT been compromised by the recent bushfire. But damn it was close... We were in the middle of the evacuation zone without access or advice for 72 hours. ... The surrounding paddocks to our yard are burnt out and some fencing has been damaged but no loss of animals, equipment, stock or structures have been affected. We are returning to business as usual on Monday 7:30am. Thank you to all who expressed concern and offered to help, to DFES (fire and the police), Main Roads and WARP Traffic Management. Your response and assistance was incredible! For the homes and businesses that were affected over the past 72 hours we are still here to help! Single-lane bridges in the Kimberley have caused a number of accidents on the main arterial road in the past, and some haven't been upgraded in decades. Cam Dumesny, from the Western Roads Federation, says it's time for change and the group will be lobbying for funding at the upcoming state election. "There's been accidents on those bridges over the years, they're just straight out dangerous," he said.
