10.01.2022 Come and learn about Bushfire Recovery Victoria and take the opportunity to sample produce from Victoria's Bushfire-affected regions. Thursday 3 December, 6:00-7:00pm Bushfire Recovery Victoria is a government agency set up in the wake of the 2019-20 bushfires. It assists communities after major fires, developing recovery programs which encompass biodiversity and cultural heritage values.... ECA Vic is delighted to welcome Cameron Miller (Program Director, Biodiversity and Environment) and Charles O'Leary (Director Aboriginal Culture and Healing) of Bushfire Recovery Victoria to share with us the government's approach and to bushfire recovery and their plans and initiatives for Biodiversity and Environment, and Aboriginal Culture and Healing. Enjoy a drink or food from a bushfire affected area. ECA Vic also encourages participants to support Victorian bushfire-impacted businesses by purchasing produce from the region to enjoy on the evening. Our presenter, John Harris, will go through the basics of photography and camera use, from an ecologist's perspective.This event will be held over two Friday afternoon sessions, a week apart to allow participants to practice the skills learnt during the week. John Harris is the... Director and Principal Zoologist and Ecologist with Wildlife & Ecology, an ecological consultancy based in Melbourne. He started combining his interest in nature with photography in his teens and hasn’t looked back. His wildlife photography has appeared in several books, wildlife brochures, online and at Taronga’s Western Plains Zoo. It’s been a tough one and this year we’ll be celebrating online. Join us for a night of music and fun with some pub-style trivia and bingo, hosted by Dolly’s Disco Bingo!
