18.01.2022 Red Earth, if ever there was a print that symbolised the beauty of the Australian Outback this is it. This special print is by Lee-Anne Williams. Lee-Anne Williams is a proud Bunuba / Wankatjunka woman, who lives in the Kimberleys. Lois Hazel met her through the Design Within Country Project that allowed her the amazing opportunity to work up in the Kimberley's with a group of local artists, and Lee-Anne was one of them. Lee-Anne's artistic background is both Desert and Riverside from both her grandmother's. The print used is of the dry river beds, like cracks in dry mud, after a big flood. She loves painting because to her, it takes her mind off everything bad or negative that is happening around her, it's like therapy.

15.01.2022 Happy Sunday Everyone, so this didn't start as a novel but it finished up that way. Bear with me. Many of you may notice I often refer to eco.mono as "us" and "we", well that's because I work with some amazing creatives that inspire what I do here every day from the brands we partner with, educators, influencers and so on. I wouldn't be here without them. But, the business itself is run by me (Sam), and to say 2020 has been hard going would be an understatement - I am sure ...you can all relate. Don't get me wrong, the support of our customers has been insane and the last 4 months have seen immense growth. But, to be completely transparent with you, I'm tired, I need a break. So, I am going to be taking some time off eco.mono in September. On a personal level, I need some time for me and my own health and well-being, but on a business level I want a time out to see what's next for me and this little business. I have some big decisions to make and that requires a lot of time, energy and space in my brain. So, next Sunday 30th August at 8pm AEST I will close the eco.mono online shop - and be reopening again on Monday 5th October. During this time, we will not be taking any new orders, we will be processes refunds and exchanges only. Please allow 48hrs for a response to any customer enquires during this time. That also means if you have had your eye on anything, now would be the time to get it. I have set up a 10% discount code "TAKEABREAK" at the cart that is valid on ALL orders. Thanks for your support this year! It means a lot!

13.01.2022 We know it's taking a little longer for your orders to land on your doorstep and we would like to thank you for your patience. BUT, mainly we'd like to say a huge thank you to... The warehouse pickers and packers... The couriers The postal workers The freight and logistics teams The customer service teams And everyone else who are working hard to keep our small business running right now by showing up and putting the hours in. Seriously, THANK YOU! Your orders will arrive shortly www.ecomono.com.au

13.01.2022 Sometimes it's hard to find the right words but if this past week has taught me anything it is that NOW is the time to use your voice and stand up for what is right even if you're not quite sure what to say. This week I will not be posting the usual eco.mono content to this feed. Instead I will be sharing and directing our amazing community to posts, articles and accounts that I feel are helpful and can educate both you and I. For all those who are hurti...ng right now, whether you're affected by systematic racism and/or witnessing destruction in your own community I stand by you - Sam, Founder & CEO. "Im not black, but I see you. Im not black, but I hear you. Im not black, but I mourn with you. Im not black, but I see the injustice that you face daily. Im not black, but I see your fear for your sons and even your daughters. Im not black, but I will stand with you. Im not black, but I love you. Im not black, but black lives matter." - By Show Support Because Black Lives Matter on Facebook. See more

09.01.2022 To those on Mother's Day... Some words taken from @bymariandrew with my own added from personal experience.

07.01.2022 This is a photo taken of my dear friend Lois Hazel from a few weeks back. See, I visited Lo at her Melbourne studio to pick up a top for a customer while I was in the area. She didn't have the customers size ready made, so she pulled a chair up to her sewing machine and got to work. 20 minutes later, she was wrapping the top up in her beautiful sustainable packaging for me to ship off to the customer. THIS is why I love what I do, THIS is a small and transparent supply chain ...and THIS is supporting local. As Melbourne heads back into lock down, remember the small businesses. If you normally shop at the supermarket and the shelves are empty because of panic buyers, head to your local IGA or grocery shop. I am so sure they will appreciate any amount you spend with them. Take care Melbourne, stay home and stay safe Shop the Lois Hazel collection via ecomono.com.au

06.01.2022 So, we're a week into Plastic Free July 2020 and we have cured the global warming...not quite. I have seen so many people doing amazing things for Plastic Free July, it's amazing to see so many people and communities come together to educate and help each other reduce their single use plastic consumption. I love the quote "we don't need a handful of people doing sustainable living perfectly, we need millions doing it imperfectly". So, whatever you're doi...ng, THANK YOU for doing it! Let us know below some of the habits you have changed so far in during Plastic Free July... image: @ahimsacollective See more

03.01.2022 I always get the urge to sing Come on Eileen when I'm wearing overalls. I must be honest, I didn't think I'd like Mustard coloured overalls I'd usually gravitate towards a Black or Navy pair but I am LOVING these. 02.01.2022 Wearing this mustard dress because it makes me happy, sometimes it's the really small things that make you smile or grateful, maybe it's that mornnling coffee, a phone call with a friend, a song that reminds you of a good time or maybe fresh linen. During these strange times I've been really trying to focus on the small things day to day that are making me smile and feel grateful. What is something you're grateful for or is making you smile right now?

01.01.2022 #mynewnormalwardrobe So, on Monday 25th May The Mustard Jumper and Ethical Made Easy launched their campaign #mynewnormalwardrobe to encourage us all to explore our own wardrobes and fall back in love with pieces we own. Here at ecomono we always encourage you to shop wisely and purchase items you know you will cherish for years to come.... Like this jacket, When I moved to Australia in 2013, I didn't have a lot of cash but it was the start of Winter here in Melbourne and arriving from the UK the 17degree weather didn't bother me too much. BUT, I had just landed myself a new job and I did need a jacket to throw on over a jumper for my commute. A friend recommended I check out Savers in Preston, and here I found this size 18 Katies wool blazer/coat for the total price of $14.00AUD. I don't think I could ever part with it and I will continue to wear it each year during these cooler months. It makes me feel like a boss!

01.01.2022 WE MADE IT!! Look, my iso vibe is basically... 1. Is it too late for another coffee? 2. Is it too early to drink wine?... I'm not sorry, there are no rules. Well, except stay home... but other than that you do you! Happy weekend wonderful people, stay safe
