25.01.2022 Econets has installed 3 x 120m of bubble tubing across the entrance of the marina. By anchoring and laying the tubing along the sea floor we hope to contain and redirect tonnes of seaweed back out into natural sea currents. The bubble tubing creates a natural bubble barrier that creates is own current from the sea bed all the way to the surface, therefore containing the seaweed. The bubble system also oxygenates the body of water. Due to weather and poor opportunity the ...installation of the bubble tubing has taken several weeks and we have one more visit to ensure the system will be effective throughout this Winter. The trial is expected to take us into the next 3-4 months and throughout some heavy storm systems.

16.01.2022 The ECO-BARRIER or BUBBLE BARRIER is the perfect solution to keep algae, seaweed and debris out of any water environment such as harbours, marinas, lifting docks, rivers, water parks or any water environment. The Department of Transport (DoT) is working to develop and implement strategies to address ongoing environmental issues in the Jurien Bay Boat Harbour. Decomposing wrack contributes to poor water quality in the harbour and DoT is trialing the use of Econets Austra...lias bubble curtain this winter. The bubble curtain aims to create a temporary barrier to floating wrack as it approaches the harbour in stormy weather. In May, DoT installed and anchor a line of tubing to the seafloor between the two breakwaters. With compressed air pumped through the tubing, bubbles will escape through a series of holes and rise to the surface. 04.01.2022 In March 2018, Econets Australia was approached by Department Of Transport for a trial of our new products. Since the marina breakwater was installed in Jurien Bay they have had a huge problem with hundreds of tonnes of seaweed entering the marina. Once the seaweed is in it doesnt come back out to sea. When the seaweed accumulates it decomposes and starts producing hydrogen sulphide and removes the oxygen out of the water and creates a horrible smelling gas. The result of lo...wered oxygen in the water is large fish kills in the otherwise fertile marina. Jai Ferguson and Dre Smith of Econets Australia have been delighted to experience a wide variety of marine life and have even had some close encounters with dolphins and sea lions in the marina itself. Our mission as always is to protect and preserve the marine life so we were excited to be engaged to help fix the seaweed problem!
