15.01.2022 If you are doing extensions/additions on your house make sure the concreters get a termite treatment done before they lay the new concrete. This room had termites coming up from all corners and the owners assumed the guys who did the work had it treated.

15.01.2022 SNAIL ADVICE Bit of a handy hint for all you organic gardeners out there or even just people worried about their pets and kids with snail pellets. We use a product called Diatomaceous Earth to treat for snails. Its basically tiny shells that have been crushed up that dries out insects. Its 100% safe and great for slaters and millipedes too It also increases the silica and trace elements in your soil. I actually use it in my chicken coop to keep them flea and lice ...free. You can add a snail treatment on to anyone of our standard treatments for an additional $30. Otherwise you can purchase it yourself from The Goodlife Soil Co in Midland or most Waldecks.

14.01.2022 The White-tailed Spiders are on the move. Clearly identify by a long skinny body and a white mark at the end of the abdomen. This species of spider feed on the common Black House Spider so reducing the number of spiders around the house will minimise the chances of running into a White Tail.

11.01.2022 How do you keep flies away from 100 tonnes of organic waste? This has been one of the more interesting jobs weve had recently... weve set up a fly control system at an organic fertilizer plant. Because of the organic certification and the product not being able to have any trace of pesticides we had to think outside the box. The green posts are fly bait stations that we have set up around the perimeter of the facility. Results have been excellent and the fly population has been reduced to almost nothing.

Everything that was hiding comes out and you can see how many spiders you actually have around your house Its going to be a bad spider season this year because of all the rain. There will be lots of mosquitoes and flies, so lots of food for spiders. When food is in abundance they increase their breeding. Stay tuned because we will launch our spring specials soon...

06.01.2022 Some Termites we found yesterday in a customers laundry. They had recently had a plumber repair a broken pipe and he had unknowingly dug away the chemical termite barrier in that area allowing them access inside the house.

01.01.2022 Ive had a lot of people enquiring recently about rats/mice and baiting. Obviously people are understandably concerned about the damage baiting can cause to native wildlife and pets. At EcoPest Wa we use a product called Racumin. Racumin is a metabolised quickly leaving a very low residual in the dead rodent. 01.01.2022 Can you spot the difference between a common wasp and a European wasp? The European wasp season is in full swing with 55 nests already found mostly across the... Perth metro area as well as nests also to hunt down in Geraldton and Hyden, Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development - DPIRD says. European wasps are declared pests in Western Australia and could have a devastating impact on the state's horticultural and agricultural industries. "They are complete and utter ecological vandals," Department entomologist Marc Widmer said. The Department says the highest risk areas include the City of Gosnells Programs and Events, City of Cockburn, City of Kalamunda, City of Belmont, WA and City of Swan. "Nests now contain thousands of foraging wasps, so their detection is getting a little easier and the public are noticing their distinctive foraging behaviour on pet food, dog bones, hamburger patties and meat stews. "One of our recent reports, led to a queen wasp being found at the bottom of a shopping bag of groceries! We think its possible the queen hitched a ride from interstate in amongst a load of fruit and veggies.
