It connects to your main sewer and in the instance of a blockage it acts as the first point of relief preventing the sewer from overflowing into your home. If you hear gurgling or see the water level spill over this indicates a potential blockage.

06.01.2022 Do you have a rain tank at your property? if you do you have probably noticed that piece of pipe with what looks to be a hose barb attached to the end of it. This is your first flush diverter and it requires regular cleaning and flushing out. The good news is this is an easy task! just unscrew the cap at the base and wash out all components then re attach, be sure to stand clear when opening as there may be a large volume of water present.
