25.01.2022 Ecotel has chooks and ticks - hopefully less than normal for the area!

24.01.2022 Attention folks who want more security. Ecotel has so far managed to be spared from the fires that are in full circle around Narooma. We are so grateful to be able to run to the inlet if the ability to defend the place becomes impossible. There is talk of forming an intentional community there, for those who wish for change. Are we going to make changes after these fires? Isnt continuing on our present path, yet wanting better social, financial and environmental outcomes, a... form of madness? Are we going to use this fire crisis as a wake-up call to the opportunity and power we have as individuals united by a common direction and purpose? Just sent my book back to the editor after a re-write - PEER-FUNDED ECO-VILLAGES - Together lets build housing that is profitable and accessible to all, as well as socially & environmentally far more sustainable. Its obvious that "The System" has no relevance when it comes to these basic necessities and it doesnt matter who is to blame for the mess. The fact is, we each have the power to do something about it and bring the basics back to a local level where we all have food, water and shelter. EcoVillages act as a loom upon which we can once again weave in the Yin weft threads of caring, love and abundance to our presently extreme Yang society. We are the weft threads and we are responsible for the re-weaving of our social fabric - the disintegration of which is the root of so many heart breaking social issues. It was said long ago we are the ones we have been waiting for - if not now, when? We cant expect others to look after us, especially if it means a reduction in their income - we, the majority, can actually start, simply by taking responsibility for our super money (in groups of 4) of which over $1 Trillion dollars is overseas. This money is very likely invested in big corporations that are putting profit in preference to people and the planet - the ones that some of us are out protesting against. We have been from ice ages to opposite extremes - the planet is not a stable system. Together we are powerful and together we actually do have enough money to secure all the housing we could possibly require in Australia, along with a constant source of basic healthy food, water and shelter. Anything over and above these reasonably "self-sufficient" villages, both urban and regional, is a bonus.The full abandonment of coal mining and the immediate switch to 100% renewables.as if it can all happen just like that. The energy consumed to run just one of those super bright lights in a television studio would likely exceed anything a wind turbine or battery could muster. I believe that wanting others to fix things is a cop out. Global warming is a massive distraction for the job we could ALL be participating in RIGHT NOW with a little coordinated ACTION. See more

22.01.2022 Ecotel is providing some housing to those needing assistance after the fires and hope to eventually implement the Sun Villages new model of home ownership. I just listened to the podcast of this program on housing - the suggestions for affordable housing are not going to go far, and THEY WILL do nothing but COMPOUND the affordability issue as time goes on. Further penalizing present owners of property is OUTRAGEOUS. Do we all want to end up in the same basket as those who... presently cant afford housing? Well we will, if we listen to the experts on the housing issue. NO-ONE can HELP US, THEY CANT HELP US, WE HAVE TO HELP OURSELVES, and hopefully the Government will consider providing a bit of a catalyst in the form of a rotating loan fund instead of spending the $10m mentioned on boosting a failing cause. THIS ISSUE IS URGENT. Their proposed solutions are going to HURT US ALL, and it wont solve anything long term, because the underlying systemic pattern (issue) is not addressed - the 120 year old pattern - you can see where it leads by looking at Europe and the dead-end they are now hitting with 40,000 protesters out in the streets last year - so we want to end up there? Their proposed solutions will just delay the inevitable. We need a new model of home ownership that makes obsolete the present game, without harming the people already in this game. A slow transition so as people drop out of one system, they drop into the new system. We simply cant sit by and lose our ability to own our own form of shelter. Please dont watch as our Nation transitions into renting as the norm. We have a new model of home ownership that actually empowers the people, and most of the people the RN program refers to CAN afford a $10,000 entry. Our model addresses so many more things than housing affordability - that was only a bi-product of the model. This has been 40 years of work and dedication with contributions from lots of wonderful people who actually care for their fellow Man/woman. Ive written a manuscript as Ive been too incompetent to get the model out there in any other form, that is until frustration reached another peak this week, that drove me to create a petition so that we can get our message heard. 17.01.2022 Just launched a petition and need 5 signatures to make it public! Please assist to make people aware of the issues we are challenged by and share this. Its the start of a movement to retain the control of our primary basic need for shelter. If we lose the ability to own our housing, then within this decade the majority will be doomed to renting from big corporations, like in Europe. Is this the legacy we wish to leave our children and grandchildren?

08.01.2022 Last night at Ecotel:- time to share one lovely story of my Australian life:) Just happened! I just went out to get my head clear, see if someone was around, was seeking a cigarette. But then I saw old lady Liz sitting out there like waiting for me! I listened to her life situation, she listened to mine! Then more and more wonderful poeple joined us. If heard so precious stories! I ended up finding myself on a big dinner table outside and campfire with music afterwords.... T...hank you so much dear Granny Liz that you sat there outside like universe sent you, Kim and Kimi Artist for your good talks about life and reminding me to allow the mind to be open again, thanks Kim for your warm hug, Paul for your Aboriginal knowlegde and story about the Mother-Mountain and the southern stars, Pete, Maya and Michael for the fabulous food and the magical campfire this evening offert me! All because I just went out of my room to see if somebody is around I could get a cigarette from. I got so much more!!! What wonderful surprise. What a good positive vibe place to be. Bless you!
