18.01.2022 On these hot summer days it's important to #slipslopslap. #Pigs are unable to #sweat so they make #wallows to help them cool off. They also cover themselves in #mud as a natural #sunscreen. I would also argue they find it utterly #pleasurable. Unfortunately only about 3% of pigs are #pastureraised or #forestraised. The vast majority are raised intensively in sheds on concrete or slatted floors, never seeing the light of day let alone getting to #play in a wallow. How would you like your #pork to be #raised?

We are very excited to be involved in the s...tart up of the Coast's first Reko Ring. What is a Reko Ring? It is a Facebook group where farmers list what they have for sale for the week & you can buy direct from the farmers. You can buy from just one farmer, or you can buy a little bit from a lot of farmers. All orders are prepaid and are collected from a designated pick-up point. You can order each week or you can order once a month. It's totally up to you. Reko Rings are huge in Europe right now. The Coasts first Reko ring will be in Erina.
