22.01.2022 More and more it's becoming clear that our solutions to the environmental and climate crises in Australia and worldwide are inextricably linked to social justice issues. The bushfires of last summer, the impacts of COVID-19, and the much-needed support for those working in the fossil fuel industry to ensure no one is left behind in the transition to a more sustainable economy being just a few examples. If this article from the Guardian has you nodding your head in agreement,... try getting in touch with the Tomorrow Movement to get involved with their work campaigning for a climate jobs guarantee and a COVID-19 recovery that works for everyone, or sign up to volunteer with the Australian Youth Climate Coalition SA to support just transitions with their sister organisation the Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network. There's a huge diversity of groups doing great work towards climate justice once you start looking for them! See more

22.01.2022 When we're talking about climate change and individual responsibility, this is a pretty stark reminder that fixing the problem is about more than just turning your lights off when you leave the room or even transitioning our energy systems. It's about social justice, and it's about looking at the bigger changes that need to happen in our world for our societies to be truly sustainable.

20.01.2022 The waste from renewable energy is a hard topic we don't often talk about - this is a great step on the road to truly sustainable energy!

18.01.2022 Plane miles contribute a huge amount to global emissions, and COVID-19 has given the world a change to glimpse what a world with less air pollution could look like. How do you think we should reduce their impact going forwards? Is it all about new fuel and airplane technologies to cut the fossil fuels out of air travel? Or do governments need to take more action to make it harder and more expensive for air travel companies to pollute? And what about all the passengers, is there a social and cultural shift that we need to cut down unnecessary flying time? Tell us what you think!

18.01.2022 Have you been through the hub today? If not, swing by the stall organised by our very own architecture students selling beautiful lazer-cut wooden wares like plant tags and earrings. What a great upcycling idea for all those otherwise-discarded prototype offcuts!

11.01.2022 Concrete out of soft plastic? The plastics problem around the world is getting out of hand, but the three things that are going to stop it are changing our behaviours to use less of it, finding innovative alternatives and policies to reduce how much we produce in the first place, and working out how to clean it up and reuse it. Innovative big-scale upcycles like this are one important piece of the puzzle! https://www.australianmanufacturing.com.au//new-recycling-
