25.01.2022 Please note to anyone wanting to hire our carpet cleaning machine that it is a much larger machine than a britex but it is very similar to use but more powerfull. It weighs 45kgs in total and needs two ppl to lift it and will not fit in the boot of a car sorry so we are offering a drop off and pick up for $10 if your local to holmview. Hi Guy's as some of you may know we hire out one of our carpet cleaning machines here are some Questions we get asked.... Q. Do I need to use the pre-spray? A. Effective steam cleaners will pre-treat stains to remove with the appropriate cleaningagents and use a pre-spray to break down surface tension in the carpet. This allows the water to penetrate deeply into the carpet before extraction. Q. Should I vacuum my carpets first? A. In short: Yes, always vacuum first! The carpet should be vacuumed thoroughly with a regular household vacuum cleaner, before starting to clean it with a steam carpet cleaner. This will remove loose dirt particles as well as any gravel/sand that has been tracked into the home. Q. How long before the carpet can be walked on after cleaning. A. Dry time is affected by type and thickness of the carpet, water retention qualities of the carpet fibre, humidity, temperature and air flow to the area. It can take anywhere between 2-12 hours for the carpet to completely dry, depending on the variables. Using fans, opening windows in any rooms cleaned and turning your air conditioning or heating system on, depending on the time of year, can help accelerate drying time. Q.What is the difference between dry cleaning and steam cleaning carpets? A. Dry cleaning is a surface clean, which dries almost immediately, however, will leave a sticky chemical residue. The carpets will continue to look better each time the floor is vacuumed afterwards as the residue is continually removed. Steam cleaning is a more powerful deep clean but can take a little longer to dry (still same day dry). Steam cleaning is a deeper, more penetrating cleaning method. It is very effective with heavily soiled carpets. It uses carpet shampoo and water to extract dirt from your carpets and is completely safe for humans and pets. Q. How often should I clean my carpets? A. We recommend that your carpets are cleaned every six to twelve months in a domestic situation and more often in a commercial property. Remember, even when carpets don’t appear to be particularly dirty, it’s the unseen soils, bacteria and allergens that cause the real damage both to your carpets and to your personal health. To keep your carpets looking their best and lasting the test of time, regular vacuuming of the carpet (at least once a week) is advised.
