24.01.2022 It was about a year ago I took the plunge and decided I was going to do this, I was just about to embark on an Australian tour with my old band and had our last show supporting CJ Ramone booked. Back when edbarnesfolk was edbarnespunk. There has been alot going on, but also not alot, an international support, a sold out first show, arrogantly playing on my awning, but also a tour cancelled and single awaiting release. Its coming soon, I just need more content ideas and fille...r, there's also bigger issues. But on a more serious note: I can't describe the anxieties, I can't describe the nerves, but what I can do is thank the people who have helped me, I love you all.

22.01.2022 If you have a swell companion when you see me on the street, And you think that I'm too common for your toney friend to meet, So that I, in passing closely, fail to come within your view Then be blind to me for ever, I'm a prouder man than you!... That's my favourite poem by Henry Lawson, I think I'm going to try turn it into song.

22.01.2022 Might book a show for November 3rd, US Election night. I have my freedom outfit already so you could say the hard work is 50% done.

21.01.2022 Hide your issues in a smoke cloud when everyone's around, then crawl into your blanket and out comes the frown. *insert Courtney Barnett type riff here. Snap by @weightlessinthevalley!

21.01.2022 "He radiates warmth, humour and intelligence in every situation and this emanates through his music." A sweet write up of last Thursday's shenanigans, thank you Rawing In The Pit Media! <3

20.01.2022 You need a dove to cry Not someone who’s shot You need someone where you’re only thing They’ve got You need someone who’s warm A blanket when you’re cold... You know that I want you but I’m not the one you need. I’ve just finished a new batch of songs but still haven’t finished recording the first EP yet. Still have my bathroom sessions of ‘Dignity For The Refugee’ and ‘Hey, Noel’ on the tube. : @weightlessinthevalley

19.01.2022 Come catch me doing this on the 12th of March, supporting Grace Petrie (UK) at Marrickville Bowling Club! It will be as hot as a comet covered in siracha! Presented by Troubadour Touring and Rhythm Section Management !

18.01.2022 Finally a stage that I won't fall through. Playing @lazybonesloungemarrickville on the 24th of September with an absolutely stunning line up. This will sell out, so I suggest get in quick, tickets are in my bio. ... Eddie. @ Marrickville, New South Wales

18.01.2022 I hate feeling sorry for myself, I hate songs of self pity, But like Colin Firth and Hugh Grant, In Love Actually and Bridget Jones' Diary, I need someone to comfort me.... And I know all my love songs sound like ones you've already heard, But I want to try my hand at putting this all into words, I've been shot by cupid, Am a little bit stupid, And I look at my own shabby clothes and I wonder, what the use is. Anyway, some gigs announced soon, here's a completely arbitrary video of me playing ping pong.

18.01.2022 "I am not going to read a how-to guide on killing birds". I think one of the most, intelligent and bright ideas I've ever had was to judge books by their cover with my good friend @zazisucks.

16.01.2022 Since the album has had to be recorded over: the bushfires, causing an evacuation of all studio gear, a break up, the roads being closed due to floods and a global pandemic, it's natural now since it's 99% done I want to see progress speed up, so @domingo90 and I wore these glasses I stole from work today. #zoomzoom #motherfuckers #blue

13.01.2022 "You shouldn't smoke man, unless you want to sound like Tom Waits, the guy you danced in the kitchen with." I love it when people quote my lyrics back to me, it means they were listening, but yeh of course I shouldn't smoke, I'm a marathon runner for chrissake. Played an unannounced secret show last night that was filmed and recorded, expect some footy this week ahead of this Thursday's show at @lazybonesloungemarrickville.... : @weightlessinthevalley

12.01.2022 It's New Electric Guitar-Day at my house! The last time I was able to say that was when I got Tom Delonge from Blink-182's signature guitar, when I was 16. "Well I guess this is growing up." ... Newtown, New South Wales

12.01.2022 Been revving my car when the girls walk by in Penrith Maccas Carpark since I was 5 years old.

10.01.2022 Someone told me last night I have a "very bogan" voice. I don't know if that's true or not, but I've also recently been driving a ute alot, maybe it's time to start my career doing COVID-5G conspiracy monologue? I'm legit just a pair of speed dealers away. Ya in deep water @thesmithstreetband. ,: @weightlessinthevalley

09.01.2022 They're playing Billy Bragg in Corelli's Gallery Cafe.

09.01.2022 Next Thursday at @lazybonesloungemarrickville has sold out! This must be what it feels like to be Taylor Swift or Drake or something. Alot of newbies and songs that have been workshopped, injected and turnt in the studio, real excited to see everyone's beautiful faces! XxX... Blake Cateris , Bruise Pristine, Amends, Dal Failure, Nothing Rhymes with David

08.01.2022 #ausmusictshirtday ! This band is @clownsband, one of Australia's hardest working bands full of A-class punk rock. I had to keep the poster of their album launch in Sydney last year. With a line up featuring @hardonsband and @privatefunction69 it was legitimately the epitome of Australian punk rock. Bit of hardcore, silliness and throwback.

08.01.2022 One day, I will do a set where I open with "Hey Jude" and do the "Na-Nas" for 30 minutes and that's it. But now there's a song on the record that repeats the last chorus 8 times, McCartney should probably retire since there's a new sherriff in town.

08.01.2022 In the words of my favourite band ABBA; "I Say Thank You For The Music"

07.01.2022 Recording Day 5046: Running late, tired and sad I'm missing @shrugband 's debut show. But it's harmonica, guitar solo and screaming day at @blueskystudioau, it's a beautiful day and I have coconut water. ... Now that's worth a picture.

06.01.2022 Should stick to politics and keep out of music.... then I'd be able to afford an ironing board. Back in the studio next week schmeeks, awning sessions coming to YouTube too! Eddie B.... : Jade Felicia

04.01.2022 High school punk with messy hair, if it touched the collar you had to get it cut. Actually still quite proud of some of those lyrics, teenage angst is a hard feeling to replicate. Delivered Leftovers everyone.

04.01.2022 Overall, this hibernation of sorts has served me well, I read lots of books, listened to alot of Tom Waits, tried some new drugs, quit all drugs, stared in the mirror and thought "What The Fuck" some days and other days thought and felt like I was Leonardo on a boat mast screaming "I'm King Of The World!", fell in love and missed, rekindled some beautiful friendships with people I haven't seen in up to 6 years, wrote my first short story which was autobiographical yet imagina...tive, was actually quite proud of that and how it turned out, another feather in my hat, spent my travel money on a new guitar (meant to be in London now), eased some stress veins in my temple by writing an awful lot of songs, been recording too, played some awning gigs which I was terrified about but it seemed everyone on my street loved it, but most of all I'm excited for this show coming up on the 24th of September at Lazy Bones Lounge Marrickville, I love @get_folked_punk, most welcoming community I know in Sydney, not many people there who pretend they don't see you so they don't have to talk, I'm really keen, should be a fantastic night. Will be playing with a band, @hugopal59 on bass and @benthegrape on drums, ticket link in bio. It's also a stellar line up.

04.01.2022 @theundergroundstage said I have the "Chutzpah" to pull off this self-deprecating folksinger troubadour thingamajig. I didn't know what that meant so I googled it and I am happily satisfied with the outcome. Anyway, question of the week: Do the Amish know about COVID-19? And if so, how are they dealing with it? The eyes of memory only open in dream. ... : My best friend in the world @weightlessinthevalley

04.01.2022 Happy Father's Day, Adaminaby 2003, I am second from the left . To any of my friends who may feel lonely on a day like today, I love you and you are stronger than most. Ed.

03.01.2022 In the clearing stands a boxer. I get goosebumps when I hear that line, doors at 6:30, live music from 7:30, on 11:15. Good times and great classic hits, 101.7 WSFM.

02.01.2022 I don't think I've bought a CD in years, I'm a big vinyl guy so this means it's special. @gracepetriemusic's "Queer As Folk" was one of my favourite albums of 2018, possibly all time regarding all things folk, honest and anthemic. I had to get a physical copy and it just arrived. Still always feel #blessed that I was able to play with her, pretty much days before everything got cancelled, including the rest of her tour. ... I will be definitely Dancing To Tom Paine's Bones for days now. Photos by legendary @weightlessinthevalley @ Newtown, New South Wales

02.01.2022 I'm really happy about the government cutting Jobkeeper. Throwing about 200,000 Australians onto barely livable Jobseeker whilst letting a whole heap of businesses die is a great method for economic recovery and the average Australian's morale boost, especially now that their enormous 3.4 million injections short, 7 month delay on vaccines will have us getting back to normal in no time. It's all a numbers game baby! April Fools.

02.01.2022 Available for weddings, funerals, corporate gigs, children's parties, corrupt political fund-raising dinners and dance floors. I just get to pick what I wear and what I play.
