25.01.2022 The new website www.eddiesafarik.com.au has been launched! Of course you need a new profile photograph for a new "About" page on a new website www.eddiesafarik.com.au I thought it was appropriate that I should create the new profile photograph myself with my bare hands, bare feet, #carlzeiss lens and #canon camera. There was no sunshine that day so I made some with my wildly expensive, super high quality, Swiss-made #broncolor lighting, (my clients are totally worth it). I th...ink I look a bit too intense, serious, sinister, stabby but, I also thought clients would be happier to pay somebody that looked intense, serious, artyish and into their work rather than if I was smiling like a hyena. Alas this post is not really about my new profile photo, it's really redirecting your attention to my new website www.eddiesafarik.com.au although I thought my blue-steel may grab your attention to begin with and redirect it to my brand new website www.eddiesafarik.com.au ; ) take a look, enjoy! 24.01.2022 Helene Thomas’s moving story will go to air on radio National this morning! A 7 year project as she cared for a precious being... Athol’s story will be broadcast today on Life Matters, ABC Radio National, between 9-10am. A story about a unique friendship and dealing with the loss of independence as we age. Recorded conversations over a period of seven years, this piece is essentially about love, connection and dreams coming true.

24.01.2022 A new blog posted just now at www.eddiesafarik.com.au "It had become a swarm, photographers were on every window as Dr Haneef was driven past us just once before boarding his plane. I felt the pressure was kinda on me a bit, the other shooters knew I was that fella that got that *photograph. Was I under more pressure than the others? Would I get the shot again with so much competition, was I a flash in the pan or safe hands?"...I've just released the latest blog post at www.eddiesafarik.com.au please visit for the full story and more images. I hope you enjoy the experience through my eyes.

23.01.2022 The Mullet’s back! My understanding was that this do is as effective as a chastity belt. Not so. Just ask these two Hobart tigers. Fun times with Abe and Dan.

20.01.2022 "The soul sings in a place like this" Charles Wooley Visits the Styx Forest.

20.01.2022 A new short film. An opportunity to join Graham Furness and Rebecca Kissling (forest guardians), Charles Wooley (60 Minutes Journalist), Amanda Ducker (Hobart Mercury Associate Editor), Dr Helene Thomas (Audio Producer) in the Styx Valley, Tasmania came up. The Styx is just down the road from Maydena and Mt Field National Park. Alarmingly, Tasmania’s pristine, ancient forests are still being clear-felled and burnt. This problem adds fuel to the climate-change fire and should be one of the biggest Australian news stories of our time. The fury of climate change will make Covid 19 look like a playful pup....please read on here www.eddiesafarik.com.au You can see the film here https://vimeo.com/440908243/704915ec42

19.01.2022 Wildlife and the rhythm of life was all around us. Don’t even get me started about my sweethearts, my adored Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoos, three on a tree, two up to mischief and one lookout. Come with us, walk through the TLC’s newly protected-for-nature Brockley reserve. Read the Magazine article and see the whole film here... www.eddiesafarik.com.au

17.01.2022 Happy New Year! : ) I hope 2020 will be great for you, our planet, nature, work, family and the friends that support us. I was lucky enough to see 2019, a wonderful year for me, out with friends, the amazing Georgia and Tom at the bottom of this photograph doing what we love doing, photographing and paddling amongst nature at my home. My niece Imogen says love life and life will love you back, I think that's true. The key for me was first return to my true home the one that I've always loved, continue to love it and life and home will both love you back. Please be inspired, inspiring, safe, happy, kind and loving in 2020.

07.01.2022 It was a boyhood dream to shoot a police chase. Director, Producer, Editor and Colorist, Jess Lange and tech company BDNA had me on board with Tasmania Police who are rolling out a new, modern information system with BDNA's help. It was our job to audio-visualise the story and to make it so much more than just computer screens. My jobs were cinematographer, lighting and location audio capture. This is my favorite section of mostly Jess's cut, complete with police chase Thank you, Jess Lange, www.jesslange.com.au Justin Collins, www.bdna.com.au and Mark Mewis, www.police.tas.gov.au
