13.01.2022 I’ve just finished reading Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss. It is about intuition (this book is about diagnosing illness). Apparently intuition is a skill that can be developed by clearing your cluttered mind, perceiving the signals in the moment, and letting go. Myss’ analysis of illness and its causes are fascinating - aligning with my own curiosity about how the mind interacts with the body. Healing seems to often involve an internal shift - whether is it forgiveness, changing a dysfunctional relationship, recognising a challenging truth. It always requires work, but it doesn’t have to be a struggle.

10.01.2022 Celebrating International Women’s Day 8 March in Atherton thanks to combined Atherton and Malanda chambers of commerce. Three great speakers with different local success stories.

08.01.2022 At Georgetown for a Northern Gulf Resource Management Group board meeting where we welcomed new Director Kelly Bethel. We were invited to join some local women ...to paint rocks as part of a community resilience project while we were waiting for the meeting to start which made us feel instantly welcome and included. 07.01.2022 Enjoyed a soil health workshop hosted at my sister and her husband’s farm near Wondecla this morning. Held by Terrain NRM, it is a similar format to Northern Gu...lf’s format. As a Director I wanted to find out what it was like. Interesting hearing from a variety of land owners with different environments and production goals. We also got our hands dirty! See more

04.01.2022 I was appointed as a Director today to the board of Northern Gulf Resource Management Group. Looking forward to applying my governance knowledge and skills to support the group to continue to do great work with people and landscapes in my western back yard. 02.01.2022 Perseverance is a great skill. So is being able to come to terms with limits that simply cant be wished away. We’ve just read Being Mortal by Atul Gawande; a book about dealing with decrepitude and dying. It challenges us to consider the reasons you want to be alive. It’s about having difficult conversations with yourself and family all the time, not just at points of crisis. Questions to consider - what is your understanding of your physical situation? What are the potential outcomes? What are your hopes and fears? What is the best course of action?
