18.01.2022 Have you ever tried crumbed mussels? . It’s amazing, give it a go! INGREDIENTS... 1 kg mussels cup plain flour 2 eggs beaten 1 cup panko or homemade bread crumbs frying oil (use a heat tolerant oil like Coconut, macadamia or ghee) 2 Tbs of finely grated Parmesan cheese INSTRUCTIONS Steam mussels until open. De-shell and de-beard mussels, discard. Coat mussels in flour, then egg and finally bread crumbs mixed with the cheese Heat oil until bubbles come around when a wooden spoon is pressed into the oil. Fry in batches until golden. Cool on paper towel. . Enjoy!

06.01.2022 Happy 2020 World Oceans Day! For 2020 World Oceans Day. As the challenges to the ocean continue to grow, so does the need for novel solutions and the people dri...ving them. To that end, the theme of UN World Oceans Day 2020 is Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean. Innovationrelating to the introduction of new methods, ideas, or productsis a dynamic term, and one that is fundamentally filled with hope. https://www.un.org/en/observances/oceans-day Australia is one of the world’s most sustainable fisheries. This is in part due to our fisheries management controls, for example protecting fish during spawning, but also due to the collaboration of the sectors and the people within the sectors. While fisheries and the marine environment are constantly changing, the people within the Industry have continued to maintain the sustainability of our inland waterways and oceans. The FRDC would like to say a big thank you to all the people within the sectors Recreational, Commercial, Aquaculture, Indigenous, and Research for achieving and maintaining sustainability in our fisheries! Australian fishing and aquaculture demonstrates that sustainability can be achieved while still enjoying Australia’s spectacular seafood and ensuring it can be enjoyed by Aussies for generations to come. Happy World Oceans Day! #WorldOceansDay

02.01.2022 The future of farming . In these farms, the entire water column is used to grow kelp, scallops, mussels, and oysters, all of which work together to clean our oceans. The farms absorb carbon dioxide and nitrogen from the water, filter out toxins, and could be used as valuable tools to help mitigate the effects of climate change. These farms can be used to grow local food, organic fertiliser, biofuel, and more. . https://www.fix.com/blog/breaking-down-fish-farming/... . . #sustainableseafood #farmingforthefuture #aquaculture See more
