24.01.2022 This is gold. I agree completely In the last few months I have been doing some pet minding locally. Horses, dogs, cats, sheep, chickens, alpacas. The one thing I know for sure is that in general, your animals love you immensely. They all wanted me to stay. They were also dissapointed that I wasn't their owner arriving home, oh how they missed them. ... All the animals I have looked after feel their life is enriched because their human is in it. Never underestimate how much you mean to your animals, and not just because you feed them. Just by being you, you are loved.

Anu is a person of colour within the horse wold and I’ve been looking to open this conversation as the horse world can be a judgemental place for people with white skin let alone someone with brown skin and I wanted to hear how that has been for Anu and what we can learn from her experience and how we can make positive change on the racism in the horse world. As expected Anu is a really interesting human and we speak not only of racism in the horse world but about Anu and her accomplished career and her work and the positive change she is making. 22.01.2022 I do so by asking a lot of questions. Being genuinely interested in their reasoning as it helps me understand their "why". So why do you......? And what is that for.....? Then I start asking. Did you know they've done research on....? Have you seen this awesome YouTube video....? Have you heard of....? I find being truly curious and interested in people and asking a lot of gentle questions plants seeds in their mind. From there they can choose to explore or not.... How do you do this?

That's where minds and hearts can truly change. No matter your preferred training technique, there's always more to learn.... If you choose to listen without judgement to a trainer of a different style to your own, this is when real learning can happen. When you are open to new ways you can evolve in your horsemanship and personally. If you put other people down or judge them for using different methods then you are a big part of the problem in the horse world. Be the change you want to see in the horse world.
