05.01.2022 If you employ 20 or more employees, you are required to switch to the Single Touch Payroll (STP). STP is an ATO requirement in which employers must report salaries and wages, PAYG withholding and superannuation to the ATO each time they pay their employees (instead of reporting payment once at the end of a financial year). Xero includes an ATO endorsed and easy-to-use STP system, and while businesses were required to have made the switch by 1 July 2018, Xero subscribers have been granted a deferral until 31 December 2018.
