13.01.2022 Edged Weapons Training - A very controversial subject in the 'Martial Arts' world. What people fail to understand is this is NOT a Martial Art as such, it is learning to defend yourself against somebody who has the intent to kill you. I have visited numerous 'Martial Arts 'clubs through out my 40 years of training.....watched their YOUTUBE channel and I cannot beliieve they actually believe their stuff would work against a person who has intnt to kill you . Everything ...is with a 'participating partner''.. I have been fortunate enough to do some training with current serving Infantry guys who have done the Army's own Edged Weapons training and I was grossly disappointed in what is being taught..all I can say is lucky they have a gun ... can 'pick it to pieces' in 1 minute. If you dont get it 100% right you will fail....Any Instructor out there who teaches a disarm or 'locking the arm up' before their attacker is either totally off balance or disorientated from being hit is kidding themselves..OR anyone teaching to 'give your arm up' to get close is well out of their depth..if your instructor does this then you need to 'ditch' them in this field or you will end up seriously injured or dead if you try it in a real confrontation . They maybe good at their 'Martial Arts' stuff but should leave Edged Weapons well alone......at the end of the day if someone who actually knows how to deploy a knife no matter who you are you wont know about it until you start 'bleeding out'....
