23.01.2022 Water is one of the most important substances on earth. All plants and animals must have water to survive. If you don’t drink water you will die it is that important. Depending on your environment we can live only a few days, without water if we are lucky maybe a week. We can live much, much longer without food. For most of us we should really prioritize the consumption of water far more than we currently do and here is why and how water can help us. 1) The human body once f...ully matured is approximately 60-65% water for Men and 50-60% for women. The Human brain is made up of 85% water and our bones are between 10-15% water. 2) Water is lost as urine and through breath as well as from skin surfaces as sweat. For a typical adult it is typical to lose as much as 2 to 3 liters daily. As one milliliter of water is the same as one gram of water, this equals 2 to 3 kilograms lost from the body each day. 3) Drinking water can actually reduce pain in your joints. It helps to keep the cartilage soft and Hydrated. This is how glucosamine helps reduce joint pain, by aiding cartilages absorption of water. (Glucosamine is a natural chemical compound found in the body. As a supplement, glucosamine is most often used to try to ease the joint pain caused by arthritis) 4) Drinking water aids us in weight loss, A lot of the time we think we are hungry when really we are actually just thirsty. For those of you trying to lose some body fat or drop a few kilos staying hydrated can serve as an appetite suppressant and help with your weight loss. This doesn’t mean you should stop eating and just drink water all day, still have your solid 5 to 6 meals a day just start each meal with a glass of water and this will aid you in your portion control. 5) Water Improves blood circulation, the fat deposits in the body are eliminated along with accumulation deposits in the nervous system when you drink a glass of water. The water flushes out the toxins that are circulating throughout the body and then enhances blood circulation. Making sure our muscles are hydrated and relaxed will eliminate poor circulation and blood flow. 6) Water will also help us perform better in the gym and on the sports field. How? Proper hydration contributes to increased athletic performance. Water composes 75% of our muscle tissue! Dehydration can lead to weakness, fatigue, dizziness and hormone and electrolyte imbalances.

22.01.2022 Recently have been finding myself looking for a quick energy/treat between clients and before rugby training. Today I decided to fix this problem and make some of my own protein energy balls. These HIGH energy/fibre/protein balls consisted of: Chia seeds, Sunflower seeds, Pumpkin seeds, Rolled oats, Manuka honey, Peanut butter, and #bsc WPI protein powder. #health #iquitsugar #nutrition #lifestyle #fitness #cleantreats #protein #cooking

12.01.2022 Abdominals: I hear so many people/clients complain how they don't have abs.. That they need to do more core exercises to get abs.. Truth- We all have abs/a core, just like a bicep or tricep the abdominals are another muscle group!! Yes core exercises will strengthen your abdominals, just like bicep curls will strengthen and grow your biceps. But in order to visually see your "Abs" you need to have a low body fat percentage. So if it's abs that you really want, put more time into nutrition, cardio, and compound exercises ( deadlifts, squats etc..). Persistence is key. If you want abs and really want to find out the perfect body fat percentage for you, Invest in a health and fitness coach today!!!

12.01.2022 Breakfast : Is it important? Yes, Yes and yes breakfast is by far the most important meal of the day, it is also the most commonly skipped meal of the day. Eating breakfast is important as it kick starts your metabolism for the day. Your metabolism is the process in which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy. Skipping breakfast can lead to very unhealthy habits and can make you more than likely reach for that Tim Tam and coffee at 10am as you will feel low o...n energy and lethargic after skipping breaky. What should you eat for breakfast? Choices like an egg white omelette on burgen soy and linseed bread, or a granola muesli with berries and a low fat greek yogurt would be ideal. But a lot of these decisions come down to time and as I grow older I am finding that peoples time management is very poor. When having breakfast no matter what it is aim to include: 1) A source of protein (This will keep you feeling fueller for longer) 20-30grams 2) A low G! source of carbohydrates (This will give you the energy you need to start your day off with a bang) 20-30grams 3) A source of fibre 4+grams and fats 10-15grams Making a change to your nutrition by including breakfast everyday will make a huge difference to your weight loss, body shape and overall health and lifestyle as you’ll have more energy to do the things you love and feel better doing them. 06.01.2022 Deadlifts: Considerd one of the best exercises you can do. A functional lift that works so many major muscle groups when performed with correct technique. Muscles worked: Erector spinal (Lower back), Gluteus maximum (Butt) Hamstrings, Quadriceps, Abductors (Inner thighs) and the entire abdominal region. No matter what age or level of experience you've had weight training, add the deadlift to your programme
