15.01.2022 Why measuring success using trading scales can be disappointing!! Here is client X. From September to January, client X lost only 0.1kg of weight.... Which for some would be dishearting. Luckily at our disposal we have the Evolt Active bio impedance machine that shows while client X has only lost 0.1kg of weight, they gained 2.3kgs of muscle weight and lost 3.7kgs of fat weight, the rest of the weight difference being water. Which is why when your only method of assessment is standard weighing scales, don't be disheartend if your hard work isnt being reflected on them
13.01.2022 Today marks 6 weeks of Wayne's journey. What Wayne has achieved over this time has been incredible. Not only did he lose 7KGS of bodyfat and gain 1.5kg of muscle he has also had a significant impact on others with our wonderful Robina community. Because of Wayne, not only has there been more people inspired to create a healthier lifestyle and train at our studio, but we now have more people out there walking the streets of Robina takings pictures as they go.... Robina really is an amazing place and we are so lucky and greatful to have such a wonderful community and people within it, all doing their thing to make this world a better place

11.01.2022 Two monstrous PBs from Nathan & Renee last week. Renee at 110kgs Nathan at 240kgs ... Each year these two have a strength testing session, to see their strength gains from the year before. And each year they progress that little bit more. I think back to the time when they first started. Renee using little pink Db's, Nathans a slightly darker shade of pink . We now look back and smile, not because of where they were, but because of how far they've come. Its important to note, this is their highlight reel. It doesn't show the time, the energy and the ability to show up for each session and put in the work, even on the days they really didnt want to. Proud of you guys

Call this an educated preference, strength training is the most important training you can do in todays climate, here are just 4 simple reasons why you should include some sort of resistance training into your exercise routine. 1. It makes you stronger.... 2. It produces less cortisol (stress hormones) in your body compared to long duration cardio workouts. Too much cortisol for too long can lower your immune system and make you more susceptible to illness. 3. It not only strengthens your muscles, but also strengthens your bones too, potentially reducing the risk of osteoporosis later in life. 4. You will feel & look amazing. 09.01.2022 THE EFFECT YOU HAVE ON OTHERS IS THE MOST VALUABLE CURRENCY THERE IS And To understand the above, you first must understand the below. Meet the Hutchinson family, Judy, Jim and cousins Ruby, Charlie and Tilly.... I've been lucky enough to train Judy now for close to 6 years, she started training at the age of 15 and would train a few days a week after school. About 2 years ago Judy asked if her brother Jim could come to training with her. Jim had some great goals, ripped into training, changed his diet, changed his lifestyle and BOOM, lost 20kgs Not long after that, whilst eating pizza and drinking a beer with Jim on his 18th birthday (yes really) I met Ruby, Charlie and Tilly, they had just moved to the area and had seen how awesome both of their cousins were and asked if they could come training too. So they did. Unfortunately Tilly wasn't much of a morning person, so we didn't see much of her to begin with. Until about a month ago, when she came to a thursday night session, upon leaving Tilly asked when the next session was, I said tomorrow morning at 6.30am. She laughed and reiterated ' I don't do mornings' to which i replied, "that's ok". But here's the part that lights me up inside, brother Charlie aged 14, working on his goals turned and said, "Come on Tilly, if I can do it you can to" And then boom, just like that Tilly hasnt missed a morning session since, she comes in, she trains hard and then goes off ready to take on the world. And then it hit me, Charlie inspiring Tilly, Charlie inspired by Jim, Jim transforming his body. Was all cause and effect of just one person, Judy. Which brings me back to the title of this story, 'The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is' Because not only will the positive actions you take with your life change and transform you, they may potentially change and transform the lives of your family, your friends, the person in the back who just needs that little bit of inspiration to turn their life around. And remember, we can all help to make this world a healthier, more beautiful place, One inspirational moment at a time

06.01.2022 If you, like me, have gained a couple of kgs over Christmas (or in my case almost 7kg!) the first and most important thing to do is accept what is and be kind to yourself. There is absolutely no shame and certainly no reason for you to feel bad about yourself with regards to any weight you may have gained this Christmas. For me personally I had an absolute ball this festive season with no second thought to what i put in my mouth, even as my clothes started getting tighter. An...d what has happened has happened and while I don't regret any of it, I know I have had my splurge and am ready to go through the process to get back to my healthy self. Yes training is going to be a little harder, Yes next Christmas I'll tone it down a little, But right now, I'm simply ready to go again.

05.01.2022 SLEEP - CAN IT IMPACT YOUR FAT LOSS RESULTS? In a 2018 study subjects where split into two groups and put on a calorie deficit diet plan to facilitate weight loss over an 8 week period. On top of that, One group was told to sleep normally for the 8 weeks while the other group would sleep one hour less each night Monday through Friday but would 'catch up' on lost sleep over the weekend.... The results went on to show that while both groups on average lost the same weight on the scales, the big difference was were the participants lost their weight from. Of the weight lost from the normal sleeping group, 83% of that weight came from BODYFAT Compared to the 'reduced sleep' group to which 85% of the weight lost came from lean mass (muscle) THAT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE And I think it's fair to say, when people say they want to lose weight, what they are generally referring to is a reduction of body fat and not just a lower number flashing back at you on the scales. So if fat loss is one of your current goals, making sure you create a healthy sleep schedule can go a long way to whether you reach your goal or not Ps while my artistic skills are good, this diagram and information comes courtesy of #Jeffnippard.

Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's mental health. A worthy cause. ... While we can’t all grow a mow, we sure can row for a mow! So this Thursday, November 26th for the duration of the 5:10am & 5:50am classes the rowing machine will be put through its paces.
