01.01.2022 COVID Update Thursday 4 Feb - 0 cases again today - 4 days in a row now. If zero tomorrow then restrictions will ease - 2 new overseas cases arrived in hotel quarantine (one flight crew picked up at airport, the other a young person traveling with family tested positive on day 12 of quarantine). ... - 7767 tests completed yesterday which is down on the previous number. - Health Minister urging people to get tested! - Still waiting on results for some close and casual contacts. 450 close/casual contacts in total traced. - All close and casual contacts will be retested today to ensure they are negative. - The four high risk contacts (housemates and close friend) tested twice and negative results yesterday - All hotel quarantine staff now must wear masks and eye wear while at work. - Up to 30 million scans on the Covid safe app. This is great but need to keep this up. - In WA the room is left fallow for 3 days before it is cleaned (cleaners weren't required to wear PPE when cleaning after these 3 days ) - 7 people went in the room. They suspect it was airflow that went over the guard. - There is no truth to the guard having a girlfriend in the hotel. - No breach of PPE rules in this case. - The positive case which brought in the virus was cleared and has now left the hotel. Confidence is growing! Now bring on the rain.
