19.01.2022 Plantar fasciitis is the medical term for inflammation of the plantar fascia, which is the connective tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot, a telltale sign is pain with the first few steps when you get out of bed in the morning or after periods of inactivity. Physio therapy can help find the cause, help you to build strength and determine if you need arch supports fitted. To help relieve the pain at home there are some simple things you can try. 1- use a towel or be...lt to stretch your calves before you get out of bed, loop the belt around your feet and gently pull both ends towards you, 2- Use a rolling pin or tennis ball to roll under your foot while your seated, or 3- freeze a water bottle and roll it under your foot. The cold temperature reduces the inflammation while you stretch the fascia by rolling.
