Hot off the press is our latest primary school creekscape play space in the Hunter Valley, which we believe exemplifies the ethos of nature-based play: spaces where children can explore and harness their own creative ideas and worlds within a seasonal, ever-changing forest-like setting. Rather than many plonked playgrounds, where natural elements are peripheral and secondary to prescriptive, prefabricated play structures, this space uses the natura...l elements of stone, timber, water, sand, sensory plants and music as the central aspect of play and imaginative learning. Such natural play spaces are also more budget-friendly, as there is no need to expend on soft fall surfacing required for elevated climbing structures.
