08.01.2022 Hi all some people choke at the prices that we charge to do their machine work without knowing what goes on behind the scenes and the hidden costs in running a machine shop in Australia let me do a quick breakdown of the costs Rent 220 square meter factory $3,000 per month Wages 3 persons $12,000 per month Tooling and machine payments ... $ $6,000 per month Energy cost electricity gas oxy ect $1000 per month Workers comp insurance $2,000 per month Public liability insurance $1,200 per month Cleaning equipment and acids and disposing of old contaminated waste over $1,200 per month . These cost are incurred by us wether we have a large turnover or not these are only some of the costs and many hidden costs are incurred beyond our control . At Edmargs Engine Reconditioning we pride on the quality of our machine work and we don't charge what we are worth So next time you get some machine work done by us or many of the other shops around , please remember this trade does not make you rich as many think My son spends many unpaid hours to keep this bussines afloat and we thank you all for your support but if we can't keep our bussines as profitable we won't be around to serve you in the future . 01.01.2022 Happy 2021 to all our friends and customers . Well the start of the year hasn't exactly started of the way I expected but all good . Looking forward to see what Robert has install this year we welcomes a new apprentice to our business so Robert can teach him how to perfect machine work at the young age of 17 he is fresh but already has shown an eager eye for detail . His dad is a plant mechanic who is also into performance engines and is a car enthusiast so engines and perfor...mance are in his blood . Edmargs is looking forward to expand in the next couple of years and thanks to all our loyal customers we have already started to show that we are up there with the best . Robert has dedicated his life into this bussines and will continue to grow with the firm also incorporating his own trademark as Shortys Performance and engine modifications I have no doubt that this year will be our biggest yet . I will be in and out of the workshop and will visit everyone on our client list personally when my health gets back on track . Covid 19 has proved a challenge for everyone in the engine reconditioning trade with the difficult access to parts but thanks to our major suppliers Austral Distribution . Precision Engine parts . Nason engine Rocket industries Crow Cams and of course Troy Worsley from Warspeed who has helped us to no end and we also have the pleasure of being able to be one of his machine shops for his engines as well Without all you guys we would be lost. It's sad that at the end of last year one of our cam suppliers Camtech Cams closed their doors due to retirement of the owner malcom Pettit Crow camshafts in Victoria are a big company that we have dealt with over the years with proven performance results on all types of engine and will custom grind our billet cams to roberts prefered grinds to give your performance engine that leading edge .
