20.01.2022 Interesting example of how home/school connection can sometimes add confusion rather than streamline childrens' learning. Often, "homework activity" questions are confusing and poorly designed. But if you understand the learning intention (in this case ordering of numbers), feel free to rework tasks like this to assist your child. For example: "There are 3 fish tanks. One has 4 starfish in it, another has 11 in it. Let's line up the tanks in ORDER from SMALLEST number of star...fish to LARGEST number of starfish. Can you add starfish to the middle tank so that it has MORE starfish than the first tank and LESS starfish than the last tank? Mathematical terms you are trying to teach in bold, and the tanks should be illustrated visually (using abstract digits to represent starfish may skip past the comprehension of some 6 year olds).

11.01.2022 My observations of 2021 challenges faced by kids returning to full time school. I have a couple of stories for you about Prep children being Prep children!

02.01.2022 The most eagerly awaited summer school holidays has now begun. And while it might be tempting to dive into the silly season and mentally press the delete button on everything 2020 and distance learning, have a read of my latest article. A mindful reflection (the good and bad) will be really beneficial for setting your kids up for a positive 2021.
