25.01.2022 hahaha classics from our Edmund Rice Lions AFL Program
23.01.2022 2020 has come with some unexpected events and continues to surprise us all. The WA community however has demonstrated the importance of love, patience, kindness, and support during these uncertain times. We were fortunate to be able to run our annual multicultural Harmony Cup carnival this year on the 30th of September, at Barry Britton Reserve, Balga. This could not have been accomplished without the support and help from the families and friends of our participants, the W...A community, stakeholders, and the Edmund Rice Centre team. This year the carnival celebrated the 10th year anniversary of the Edmund Rice Lions, the first Multicultural AFL program in the country. Established in 2010 with the support from West Australian Football Commission, with the intent to introduce, engage, develop, and create pathways for CaLD communities through the Australian game. The event showcased the multicultural AFL talent coming through the ERCWA AFL Programs. With curtain raiser from the Edmund Rice junior team versing Swan District followed by ERC Academy teams versing Swan District youth, all teams played a spectacular game. 12.01.2022 The greatest highlight of the year for the Leadership and Art Programs was our very first Edmund Rice Leadership Conference, held at Girrawheen Hub on the 9th of October. ERCWA’s Leadership and Art Programs seeks to empower young people through education and opportunities, focusing on ethics and human rights as well as personal and professional development. More than 70 young people aged 10 to 17 attended the conference and were given a platform to develop their self-confide...nce and leadership potential in a safe, inclusive and engaging environment. The event program included inspiring speakers and engaging activities including a discovery session with Scitech, photography with Propel Youth Art for self-awareness and self-confidence, a DJ workshop, a dance and choreography session, and time to move to the beat with DJ Chocolate. We just want to thank all the participants, families, esteemed guests, volunteers and staff. It would not have been a successful event without your support!! #gofor2and5 #MoveItAUS Edmund Rice Foundation Australia Western Australia Police Force Midland District - WA Police Force Cannington District - WA Police Force Mirrabooka District - WA Police Force Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries Department of Communities The Smith Family Fair Game Lotterywest Volunteering WA Edmund Rice Network Western Australia Mission Australia City of Joondalup Youth Services Headspace Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network of Western Australia - MYAN WA Edmund Rice Camps WA Jessica Shaw MLA Mayor Tracey Roberts JP - City of Wanneroo Mark McGowan Simone McGurk MLA Reece Harley, City of Perth Eastern Reporter SBS Australia The University of Western Australia Leadership WA Perth Festival Museum of Freedom and Tolerance Healthway Scitech West Perth City of Swan City of Wanneroo City of Joondalup City of Canning Joseph Banks Secondary College P&C Australia Post Australian Government City of Stirling Ellenbrook, Western Australia, Australia Ellenbrook Mile Swan Alliance Communities for Children Girrawheen Hub Propel Youth Arts WA Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia
