24.01.2022 This week is National Child Protection Week, and today we're taking the opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding children and young people. Throughout this Child Protection Week, we will be using social media and an volunteer training event on Thursday to spread awareness of how we can all put children first. 24.01.2022 Were really good at celebrating our young adult volunteers who run camps, but its not often we shine a light on our all star line up of advisory board volunteers. Theyre the superstars behind the scenes of ERCSA who #GiveTime to guide our organisation into the future, while making sure we stay true to our 30 years of history. Their care and dedication help us deliver a quality and safe service, and without their time and expertise, camps would not happen. ... Heres to our all our board members, past and present, for all the do for ERCSA! #NationalVolunteerWeek #NVW2020 #GivingTuesdayNow #GiveTime
24.01.2022 This May ERCSA is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow. GivingTuesday Australia is an opportunity for people around Australia, and the world, to stand together in unity and use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and heal. Every Tuesday in May, we will take part in the Giving Tuesday campaign, following these themes each week: ... May 5: Give thanks May 12: Give local May 19: Give time May 26: Give what you can The Giving Tuesday Campaign is about more than just money. So while we will sometimes focus on fundraising, the campaign is largely about spreading positivity, gratitude, and thanks. 4 things you can do to today, or this week, to give thanks are: - Leave a thank you sign on your lawn, door, or in your window for delivery drivers, and passers-by - Write thank you cards and emails and send them out or store them for when social isolation is over. - Post your appreciation on Facebook for organisations that you know have helped. - Tag and thank someone in your Instagram story (template on our Instagram!), nominating them to thank three more people #GiveThanks #SpreadGratitude While children have thankfully been largely spared from the direct health effects of COVID-19, the crisis will have a deep effect on their wellbeing, and the harmful effects of this pandemic will not be distributed equally. We hope our volunteer-led website www.campathome.org is helping to minimise the impacts of social distancing on our campers and their families. ERCSA is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow to ensure we are in a position to support those children and families that need us most, both during, and after this pandemic. Due to COVID-19, we are projected to lose 25% of our annual budgeted income. Of that, we stand to lose 90% of our fundraising income as we are currently unable to run any of our planned fundraising events. To support ERCSA into the near future, and ensure we can meet the rising need when our programs return, you can: - Become a regular donor ($5 a month, $25 a quarter - your choice!) - Give a once-off donation - Commit to supporting our future programs with in-kind support (resources, food, cooking, bus driving etc) Support ERCSA today at edmundricecampssa.org/support #GivingTuesday #GivingTuesdayNow #GiveThanks
24.01.2022 Last weekend, at the end of our virtual camp, we held an activity day to bring campers and volunteers together for the first face to face program since January. It was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with some of our campers and get back into the Eddie Rice Camps spirit in person. One of our volunteers Che-Leigh had this to say about the day: "To see new and familiar smiling faces on the activity day was such an amazing feeling...days like that really put these last few... months in perspective because were all still able to reunite and connect just as well as we used to". Our next programs will be two camps in the upcoming school holidays. Volunteer places are quickly filling up with one of our two camps almost full! Come helps us make a difference in the lives of kids who really need it. To safeguard those who come on camp, we don't advertise any of the details of our programs online. For more information about our upcoming spring camps, including dates, head to our website and express your interest now: www.edmundricecampssa.org/volunteer

16.01.2022 Usually at this time we'd right in the middle of one of our winter camps, but this year it couldn't be. Instead, we've taken the camps spirit online and held our first ever Virtual Camp! A group of our amazing volunteers spent Sunday pulling together a weeks worth of camp resources and activities to send in packages to each of the campers involved. The kids will then follow along on our website, www.campsathome.org. We started the program yesterday by dropping off the packag...es and with the video below. We'll finish off the week of Virtual Camp with an Activity Day on Saturday (with every COVID measure in place to make sure it's safe for everyone involved!). Thanks again to all the volunteers who helped make it happen!
16.01.2022 ERCSA acknowledges that we operate on Kaurna Land. We pay our respects to elders both past and present, and acknowledge the Kaurna people’s cultural, spiritual, physical, and emotional connection with their land, waters, and community. 11.01.2022 Our 2019 Annual Report is now online! Check it out at the link below Our thanks again to everyone who made 2019 such a success
10.01.2022 Our volunteers always go above and beyond the call for our organisation. Last year, at a low-level estimate, ERCSA volunteers spent 20,000+ hours on camp. This is all without counting the time they spend in the office and planning for programs. Based on the current value of volunteer labour, that amounts to over $834,000 of time - yet another reason why we are so thankful every time our volunteers #GiveTime to come on camps. If you want to #GiveTime and join our volunteer d...ream team as a camp leader, behind the scenes as a camp cook, or supporting with the admin of camps in the office, head to www.edmundricecampssa.org/volunteer for more information. 09.01.2022 www.campsathome.org | A free resource for our Eddie Rice Campers Recently we informed our community that we had made the necessary decision to cancel all programs and activities until April 30, 2020. In accordance with the latest government recommendations, and direction from our governing body we have now made the difficult decision to postpone all programs until July 31st, 2020. We are continuing to review this situation and relevant implications and have been working hard ...to identify ways that we can work to evolve and adapt our ways of support and service. A shining light within this crisis is the sense that our community has become more united and connected than ever before. We are inspired by the way our volunteers are adapting and energised during this time. It is with this united spirit that we are pleased to announce the launch of our new website www.campsathome.org The website was created to help minimise the impact of social isolation on our camp kids, assist families with engaging their children, and provide an experience of relationship and connection between volunteers and participants while physically distant. Now is a time, more than ever, when we need to stay connected and draw on our community spirit and support resilience. Please share this resource with the children and families you support, your peers and networks. Were in this together!
09.01.2022 Dear ERCSA community, It is with immense gratitude that I wish to share with you the below announcement from our Board Chair Ceinwyn Elleway. Over the past 7 years Ceinwyn has been instrumental in the leadership, direction, and perseverance, she has instilled upon our community. Ceinwyn has always ensured that the pursuit of our mission remains at the forefront of what we do. Her wisdom and tenacity has lead us through some challenging times, and has only helped to strength...en the importance of our community. For me personally, the guidance and friendship Ceinwyn has offered during my time with ERCSA has gotten me where I am today. Ceinwyn strongly encourages women in leadership and over the years has challenged me to be the best possible leader for our community. For that I am extremely grateful. While her tenure officially ended last month we are fortunate that during this transition period Ceinwyn continued to stay with us until we found the best individual to lead our organisation. We cannot thank Ceinwyn enough for the dedication, and passion she has given ERCSA over the past 7 years. Kind Regards, Jess Alikaris

06.01.2022 ERCSA have been providing quality residential recreation and respite experiences for 30 years. But, we couldnt exist without the support of a network of government and community agencies that refer children and families to our camps. In April, Time for Kids celebrated 60 years of service in ...SA. Congratulations to everyone who has been and is involved with Time for Kids from 1960 to today. 04.01.2022 Continuing with our #GivingTuesday campaign, today we want to recognise those within our local community who have made camps possible in SA for the past 30 years. Year round, we receive requests from guardians, social workers, health professionals and educators advocating for young people in their care who need a break with a positive role model in a safe, supporting environment. Without the generous support of many within our community, we would not be able to continue the w...ork that we do. We have a strong network of schools across Adelaide who continue to support and encourage us in the work that we do. And to them, we say thank you! By supporting us, both financially, and through donations of food, gifts, games, and facilities for programs, our schools partner with us to provide this important service to those who need it most; young people whose future paths are greatly enhanced by the support and friendship of positive young adults. 02.01.2022 When we ask our volunteers why they are involved with us we always hear words like: connection, belonging, awesome people, and of course fun! So when we were faced with the reality that those things would be taken away from us (if even temporarily) our volunteers sprang into action. Their first initiative created to support our campers and their families during this time was our camps at home website. Overall the feedback for this site has been overwhelming with one of our su...pporters saying: The Camps at Home website is such a good idea! Well certainly share this with our families and Im sure those kids who usually look forward to and love the camps will be excited to participate in these activities. Thank you very much for your resourcefulness during this time. Thank you to our volunteers for their initiative, commitment and enthusiasm during this time.
