25.01.2022 TAX TIME IS FAST APPROACHING! Are you in a position to support our 2020 Tax Appeal? The end of the Financial Year is fast approaching which means it is the last chance to make a tax-deductible donation for this Financial Year!!... If you are in a position to, would you consider donating to ERC Victoria? You can donate here: www.ercvic.com/donate COVID-19 has financially impacted many within our community along with our capacity to fundraise and run our fee-for-service programs. With the need of those in our community increasing and our programs poised to support the much needed social re-connection, please help us continue this all-important work. Whilst we do recognise that there are many within our volunteer community who are experiencing their own financial impacts, for those that might have been able to save money at this time, please consider contributing to our 2020 ERC Vic Tax Appeal.

Through your generous support we have managed to raise a total of $55,293.00. We managed to not only reach our goal of $35,000 but exceed last years total of $54,330. Given the difficult year that it has been, it is a tremendous effort. We are heavily reliant on the generosity of our community to fund the work that we do. This Giving Day... will allow us to continue providing opportunities for our participants and volunteers to grow, challenge themselves and have fun. Please keep an eye on our social channels and check out our website www.ercvic.com to find out more about what is happening in 2021 at Edmund Rice Camps Victoria - it is looking like a very exciting year! 21.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS COREY! This summer, we congratulated Corey for volunteering on 50 Edmund Rice Camps! We sat down with Corey and asked him some questions about his time with ERC: Why did you start volunteering with ERC? I started volunteering with ERC because I wanted to give kids and families the life-changing experience that I had with ERC when I was younger.... What keeps you coming back to volunteer? The ever-changing kids on camp, and also the kids who return year after year. Its incredible to see how much theyve grown and learnt over the years. Do you have a favourite memory? Being told by a camper who I have camped with many times that their favourite part of the year is when they get to camp and catch up with myself and other volunteers. Whats next for you and ERC? Who knows what the future holds but hopefully more camps! We are so grateful for the contribution Corey has made to Edmund Rice Camps Victoria over the years. As well as volunteering on 50 camps, Corey is Co-Convenor of The Shed Committee and a long-standing member of the Trivia Committee. He continues to organise our Annual Footy Match and is present at every ERC Vic event. Anyone who has camped with Corey, will remember his remarkable ability to engage with children, his sense of humour and most of all, his passion and love for ERC! Well Done and Thank You Corey!! #nationalvolunteerweek #volunteer #ercvic

20.01.2022 December 1 is the 2020 Edmund Rice Camps Victoria Giving Day. charidy.com/ercvic. Our biggest (and only) fundraiser for 2020, your gift will be doubled by our generous matchers for one day only. With an overwhelming increase in people experiencing social disconnection and isolation during 2020, the need for experiences that provide connection through fun-filled activities has increased. It is even more important now that we can deliver recreation programs that reconnect our p...assionate volunteers with young people and families whose experiences of adversity and isolation have been greatly compounded by the stay-at-home restrictions. Please support us by donating on December 1 at charidy.com/ercvic, spreading the word with friends and family and sharing your Eddie Rice Story. Your generous support on the December 1 will assist in sharing the 'Eddie Rice Magic', preparing our dedicated volunteers to facilitate experiences that connect and build resilience for those children, young people and families who need it most and ensuring these unique and powerful programs continue to enrich lives.

20.01.2022 During this unprecedented and evolving period, the health, safety and well-being of all our staff, volunteers, participants and families remains our absolute priority and underpins all of our decisions and actions. In this light, in conjunction with the Board, the Acting EO and ERMO we have over the past few days made a number of decisions to postpone or cancel our upcoming programs and activities. Whilst these decisions are difficult and result in significant impact to Ed...mund Rice Camps Victoria, we hope that everyone understands these decisions are aimed at keeping everyone safe and well. While we are all dealing with the immediate disruption at the moment, we are positive about the future. We will get through this as a community and we will learn more about ourselves, our strengths, our skills and what we are capable of. Like all Australians, we are closely monitoring the unfolding impacts of COVID-19 and are following advice and government directions as they change and evolve. Further details around upcoming programs and activities will be communicated through our Facebook page as they become available. Anthony Ramsay Board Chair - Edmund Rice Camps Victoria

16.01.2022 Today, National Sorry Day, marks the beginning of National Reconciliation Week; a time to recognise and remember the Stolen Generations On the 26th of May, 23 years ago, the Bringing Them Home Report was tabled in Federal Parliament. This year's theme for National Reconciliation Week is "In This Together"... Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we're In This Together #inthistogether2020 #nrw2020

09.01.2022 If a picture tells a thousand words, we have a fantastic story for you! Often camp is explained as the awesome experiences, the amazing activities and the ridiculous fun. What words can't explain are all the the special moments between activities, the mess they leave behind, the unplanned silliness that leads to fits of laughter, the support and provided by our volunteers and the confidence of the participants. Every second on camp is a moment of magic waiting to happen. Occa...sionally, our cameras capture them!

09.01.2022 Hi Eddie Ricers, as we enter into another phase of the response to the COVID-19 and assess the impacts on our camps programs and family, it is great to have some good news to share. After going through some protracted recruitment processes to fill the vacancies at ERC Vic I am pleased to announce that Suzannah Siddles has been appointed to the role of Executive Officer and Amy Hills to the role of Programs Officer. Suzannah has worked for Edmund Rice Camps Victoria since 20...16 as the Volunteer Coordinator and more recently as the Acting Executive Officer. Inspired by her early volunteer experiences with ERC, Suzannah pursued a career as a Social Worker and worked in Family and Youth Services for over 10 years before joining the ERC team. Suzannah is excited to accept the position of Executive Officer and to lead the dynamic and vibrant ERC Vic community of volunteers in its delivery of impactful and heartfelt programs into the future. Amy has volunteered with ERC Vic for over 10 years, temporarily joining the team in December 2019 as Programs Assistant. Having recently worked in the event emergency planning and management space, Amy is excited to now bring those skills to the Programs Officer Role. Amy continues to be inspired by the powerful impact of the Edmund Rice community and is thrilled to contribute to the planning of life-changing, enriching programs for our participants and volunteers. Please join me and the rest of the Board in congratulating Suzannah and Amy on their appointments, I am sure you will all do what you can to support and assist them as they make the roles their own. Anthony Ramsay Board Chair - Edmund Rice Camps Victoria

09.01.2022 Something that makes Edmund Rice Camps Victoria so special is the unique relationships that form between our big buddies and little buddies. Our volunteers are more than just supervisors- they are involved in every activity, empowering and supporting the little buddy to challenge themselves and providing fun, energy and laughter. While a camp is full of big activities, it is often the small moments shared by the buddies that are the most meaningful and that will be remembered long after camp is finished. If you ask any participant who has returned for a second or third camp, they can remember not only what they did on the previous camp, but who they were doing the activity with. Help us continue to provide these opportunities - please donate TODAY @ charidy.com/ercvic and spread the word about Edmund Rice Camps Victoria

08.01.2022 25% of the way there, in only 2 hours!!! Thank-you to everyone who has donated so far, keep getting the word out and help us raise much needed funds to support our volunteers and participants in 2021! In case you forgot the link - www.charidy.com/ercvic

08.01.2022 We're loving working with Goodwill Collective, and can't wait to see what will come in 2021!

08.01.2022 Who said you can't have fun on Zoom!!! Like everyone else, our volunteers quickly adapted to the virtual realm in 2020 and facilitated 3 fun packed virtual programs this year. While we may not have all been in the one space, the fundamental features of our camp program remained - laughter, singing, ridiculous fun and connection. We are looking forward to our new GEM programs in 2021 utilising a hybrid of virtual and face-to-face connection, and to the transition back to our t...raditional week-long programs. Behind the scenes, a significant amount of work was conducted by our staff, board and volunteers to prepare for upcoming camps in 2020 - our volunteer training was reimagined and implemented online, policies and processes reviewed and rewritten, and new programs developed. 2020 has not held us back, and we are raring to go in 2021. Your support on our Giving Day will help us hit the ground running - December 1 charidy.com/ercvic

01.01.2022 Every participant and volunteer who has attended our camps has fond memories of their camp experience, of special moments spent together or the impact that it has had on their lives - our Eddie Rice Stories. In the lead up to our Giving Day on December 1, we would like to share some of our volunteers Eddie Rice Stories. We would also love to hear yours! Our Eddie Rice Story began in 1981 when a group of young volunteers ran two summer camps on the outskirts of Melbourne - one... for Vietnamese Refugees, the other for local kids in need of a holiday. They were both utter chaos, filled with activities like swimming, horse riding, hiking, camping, canoeing and archery, but without the thorough planning of today's standards. These first camps were a huge success, and through inexperience and language barriers, our first volunteers laid the foundation of the Eddie Rice magic our volunteers create today. Over the next 40 years, we expanded our organisation to provide recreational camps and programs for children, adolescents and families, experiencing adversity, marginalisation and social isolation in our community. We encourage sustainable change and development within communities, by promoting self-esteem and a sense of purpose and achievement in every child, adolescent and adult that attends our programs. We are also committed to the personal growth and development of all young adult volunteers, who serve as friends and mentors to those in our care. Your generous support on December 1 will allow us to continue to provide opportunities for kids, adolescents, families and volunteers to grow their own Eddie Rice Magic moments long into the future. Visit www.charidy.com/ercvic to donate, or www.ercvic.com to share your story.
