02.01.2022 Joe Bolton is one of the most creative, inspirational and engaging teachers and performing artists you will meet. Having spent most of his life teaching circus skills in schools across WA, he has developed a unique and effective style, with a strong focus on resilience, motivation and teamwork. Growing up in a performing and touring family, Joe was exposed to professional and performance arts, specifically Circus, Theatre, Music, Film and Television, from a very young age, an...d was a child performer himself. As a young man, he went on to work with the Starlight Children’s Foundation as WA’s first Captain Starlight in 1999, where he played an integral role in the establishment of the Starlight Express Room, and the foundation of the Children’s Entertainment Program. Joe has worked with schools in WA for over 30 years. Over these years he has maintained a passion and natural affinity for teaching and collaborative projects in schools. As Joe’s experience deepened, so did his interest in the ongoing development of his work; Edu-Circus is driven by his passion for teaching, love for the Arts, the wealth of his experience and his desire to pass it on.

01.01.2022 Edu-Circus is an educational program of safe circus skills structured to support the WA Curriculum in schools. It was developed by Joe Bolton, director of Suitcase Circus Edu-Circus has a focus on elements of Physical Education and Drama while also calling on students to apply and develop their knowledge in Science, Literacy and Numeracy. From PP-11, students are encouraged to learn through movement, apply and consolidate what they have learnt in classrooms, and develop and ...expand their existing skills. The Edu-Circus philosophy has the core objectives of building resilience and perseverance, developing confidence through competence, excelling autonomously while also working as part of a team and fostering a healthy, creative and active approach to learning.
