19.01.2022 The Commission for the Human Future (CHF), an Australian initiative, released a major report in April, Surviving and Thriving in the 21st Century - A Discussion... and Call to Action on Global Catastrophic Risks. The report elaborates ten interconnected, catastrophic risks that face us 'all'. Food security is one of the key 10 risks in era of intensifying global environmental, climate and conflict insecurity - exacerbated by COVID-19 and major disruptions to supply chains. CHF have just released their first expert report on the ten risks, 'Food is at the Heart of Our Future'. On behalf of Foodswell, I was honoured to contribute to the food security expert panel discussion and encourage you to download and read the report - available at the CHF website. See more

17.01.2022 EAT LIKE THE ANIMALS - Engaging research and facts to help us all make turns for healthy and long life! Yup- keep the proteins up and dumb foods down. Ultraprocessed foods - high fat, high carb, low protein/no nutrient uber processed hydrogenated transfat fixes - are literally killing us via obesity, heart and chronic disease and more. David Raubenheimer & Stephen Simpson's new book 'Eat Like the Animals' is a ground breaking call to action to help us all regroup and eat like the animals, for healthy people, food systems and the planet. We know our food system is broken and these very learned (and entertaining) fellows tell us just broken it is and what we can all do to eat better, heal ourselves and our food environments and economies. Critical, engaging food for thought, action and change!

14.01.2022 HAVE YOUR SAY BY AUGUST 28, 2020 This review is all about handing over chemical regulation rights, key to our animal and plant based food production, to indust...ry. Industry self regulation is often a dual edged sword - so please consider and have your say. It's not like we need more 'Roundup producers' (and their friends and cousins) telling us what is safe or not on the justification of saving $23 million to 'taxpayers' (barely a swimming pool in the scheme of greater sports rorts)....So please, if you can take time to consider public health, healthy food, people and long term environmental health interests. Review, consider and submit if you have time. https://haveyoursay.agriculture.gov.au/agvet-chemicals-regu

13.01.2022 Nov 11: 12:20-1:30pm - Beautiful, important and powerful - A must watch for NAIDOC Week, protecting culture, healthy lands and waters...

11.01.2022 This school does things a little differently - students are learning in both English and the Indigenous Murrinh-patha language. Should we have more of this in Australian schools? : ABC Education

10.01.2022 No time for sorrow. We’re building tomorrow. This animated poem has been narrated by Dr. Jane Goodall, written by Tom Rivett-Carnac and directed by Avi Ofer. You can also download a free illustrated children's book.

09.01.2022 https://juniorlandcare.org.au/educator-hub/# Congratulations Mary Bell and all of the team at Junior Landcare on the fabulous new Educator-Hub you've developed! Fantastic - It's "A place for educators to connect and share experiences Get involved in new resources, and obtain more information about getting the most out of the Junior Landcare Learning Centre. 08.01.2022 Congratulations Lachlan McKenzie! who posts "Hurrah!! SO much background work has gone into this, but now we can be happy and enjoy what we have created and look forward to what we will do. First the Tropical Permaculture Guidebook (English edition) was produced and now we've developed the organisation Permatil Global. So that answers the question, for us anyway - the egg came first, and then the chicken followed! Fantastic to be part of Permakultura Timor Leste 's continue...d development, now combined with Disruptive Media 's creative force. Can't wait to see what other partnerships arise from this too. Huge thanks and gratitude to all who've supported us so generously to get us to this point. Onwards!! " See more
