23.01.2022 Check out these guys from Barstarzz they are amazing! This proves that you don't need a gym to get great results - only your body weight and a little imagination. 22.01.2022 Gabriel (One of our great PT's) suggested starting a running group. We just wanted to know what is the interest. If there is enough, we can run a program in the West/Northern suburbs and something in the South/East. He has experience with training runners, as he used to have a group of runners in Brazil. Normally he would send the running program via email and than once or twice a week we had a group training session. So, who's interested? :)

16.01.2022 Why is my trainer making me do strength training to loose weight? Strength training is a method for your body to build muscle mass. Muscle mass needs around 10 times more energy for your body to maintain as to fat. So back to the example of twins....over night one twin gained 1kg of muscle and the other 1kg of fat. The twin with the extra muscle will burn around 400kj extra per day, while the twin with the extra fat will burn up to 40Kj extra per day. Big difference eh...? Also you continue to consume energy up to 72 hours after a weights session while your body recovers and grows. For those who are female and are worried about looking like Arnie, don't worry! Our gender plays a great deal in our ability to put on muscle. Most women will end up looking well toned and not like a muscle truck!

02.01.2022 Has any one told you doing abdominal(abs) exercises will make you lose that tummy flab? Unfortunately it is not true. Your abs primary function is for flexion of the spine, that is bending over where your tummy is. You can do many exercises that develop the abs but you may not see them underneath a layer of fat. Also you may not be doing your posture any favours either. The only way that you can get great abs is to decrease your body fat percentage through a combination of strength and cardio workouts of all muscle groups. Eventually when the fat percentage is down enough to a certain point, your abs will show through!
