03.01.2022 Ironwood Institute thanks Victor Barbosa, Agronomist at E.E. Muir & Sons Pty. Ltd., for giving his valuable time with the Diploma of Horticulture students. Dur...ing our field visit, Victor explained soil sampling, labelling, soil sample dispatch process, soil properties and soil amendment practices. He also covered in detail the practical aspects of soil farming and soil management which is very helpful for the students. In addition soil test reports were discussed in detail and general strategies for amendment debated. The class also visited E. E. Muir and Son’s agronomy store at Burton, SA, where Victor presented various fertilisers and chemicals for soil management. The Diploma of Horticulture class was extremely fortunate to have Victor Barbosa share his expertise during the field visit.
