19.01.2022 Join EEV for a day of professional learning at the VCE Environmental Science Teachers Conference 2020 where we'll hear from professionals with expertise in all things soil! From the ancient nature of Australian soils to the use of microorganisms, you'll be fully immersed in this diverse topic. On the day we will hear from four experts including Associate Professor Vanessa Wong from Monash University. Associate Professor Vanessa Wong is a soil scientist in the School... of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment at Monash University and Vice President of Soil Science Australia. Her research focuses on understanding how soil biogeochemical cycles are altered in natural and agricultural environments by land management activities and other processes such as sea level rise. She is passionate about teaching and communicating the importance of soil for society and why we should think more about the world beneath our feet. The morning sessions will be a mix of technical instruction and general interest and will be followed by an afternoon of workshopping the information into usable classroom content.
