24.01.2022 FREE: Improved heavy vehicle access across Liverpool Range. By: Ian Ackerman (Informa.com.au) Posted: 01 May 2017 Link: https://www.lloydslistaustralia.com.au//FREE-Improved-heav "CATTLE trucks and heavy vehicles are expected to get easier access across the Liverpool Range in New South Wales, thanks to a $12m road upgrade.... The upgrade is to link Merriwa and the Killara Feedlot near Willow Tree, thus cutting 88km off the trip across the Range. Federal infrastructure minister Darren Chester said the tonnage limit on the MR358 would be lifted from 56 to 68 tonnes. Upper Hunter Shire mayor Wayne Bedggood said the upgrade was about helping farmers and truck drivers get goods to markets quickly and safely. It’s also an opportunity to deliver much needed infrastructure that will result in cost savings to those residents and smaller businesses transporting locally produced goods and services into both Shires, he said." 17.01.2022 HOW TO USE GOOGLE MAPS TO AVOID POST-SHIPMENT CHARGES By: DEAN JUTILLA Posted: APRIL 27, 2017 Link: https://blog.uship.com//avoid-post-shipment-charges-googl/ "With all the buzz around logistics technology like drones, autonomous trucks, and automated warehouses, one mainstream technology Google Maps is giving logistics professionals a distinct business advantage.... Thanks to Google Maps street and aerial views, it’s never been easier for both freight shippers and carriers to determine and verify location types before booking, dispatching, and shipping freight. For shippers, accurately displaying pickup and delivery location types can help reduce unexpected post-shipment charges that take an inordinate amount of time, energy, and hassle to resolve. For carriers, being able to verify location types and addresses in advance helps them bill more accurately, as well as send the most appropriate equipment to handle the job. Without this insight, shippers can face substantial fees at a carrier’s discretion." See more
17.01.2022 International Payments & Export Credit Insurance By: Joseph Zaritski. Posted: Date Unavailable Link: http://www.export61.com.au/international-payments "Introduction: You may negotiate excellent terms and perform an outstanding deal, but if you haven't been paid you've lost. That's why setting up the right terms of trade is a crucial part of your exports.... When negotiating the terms of payment you always face a dilemma: if you insist on more secure payment terms, you may very well reduce your sales opportunities (lower and less frequent orders, allowing your competitors with better terms to take the advantage), if you agree to more flexible payment terms, you run a high risk of the payment being delayed or refused. If you appropriately select and arrange the terms, you can significantly minimise risks involved with payments. There are several terms of payments that are commonly used in International Trade." 15.01.2022 International Trade Contracts By: Joseph Zaritski. Posted: Date Unavailable Link: http://www.export61.com.au/trade-contracts "All international transactions are conducted according to the terms and conditions negotiated between you and your buyer. Terms of trade are stipulated in the trade contract and clearly, indicate your and the buyer's responsibilities.... Introduction: All international transactions are conducted according to the terms and conditions negotiated between you and your buyer. By negotiating terms you secure the deal, minimise risks and protect your company in case of possible trade disputes, claims and/or legal actions. Usually, terms of trade are stipulated in the trade contract and clearly indicate your and the buyer's responsibilities. There are no standards regulating trade contracts as such. You'll find that sometimes it may be just a one-page document and sometimes - a very complicated 10+ pages booklet including several appendices, additional conditions, etc. In some cases, a contract can even be formed based on words alone. It really depends on the goods you are selling, your relationship with the buyer and your personal preferences. Also, in different jurisdictions, there may be different requirements that must be met for a contract to be effective according to its terms." See more
