24.01.2022 Onwards and upwards.....

22.01.2022 We have been a bit quiet of late.....thanks for understanding. Our plan is to make an announcement regarding our 2021 event at the start of November. Yes we know we are later than usual but we need the time to work through our options now the latest Covid restrictions have been announced. ... Stay tuned and we will provide as much info as we can as soon as possible.

21.01.2022 We hope to have our online ticket link live on our website early next week. Thank you to the fabulous people who are itching to buy their tickets and apologies we have been a little slow off the mark. The exciting part is we have been able to secure a deal to make our entry tickets half price.....so you might forgive us for our snail like speed of late! ... Please share with your friends so everyone keeps up to date with our news.

19.01.2022 Normally we would not be wishing the days away, but right now it’s hard not too. We just wanted to touch base and let everyone know we have decided not to proceed with the garden festival for 2020. Everything is against us and we have decided to pop this on the back burner and focus our plans on a successful EG Field Days for 2021. ... We have decided to make more decisions on what the field days might look like in December so we won’t be opening exhibitor registrations before then. We will do all we can to run in 2021, but this might mean quite a different looking event. For now we will just wait and watch what happens. Hoping you are all doing ok and taking care of one another.

19.01.2022 Good news - the East Gippsland Field Days return in 2021 (April 23 and 24 to be exact)! Great news - entry will be half price ($10 adults and children under 16 ...free) thanks to a partnership between Council, East Gippsland Water, Southern Rural Water, East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority and the East Gippsland Field Days. Mayor Cr Mendy Urie said it's a great example of local agencies working together to support one of the region’s most iconic and important events. 18.01.2022 The Royal Geelong Agricultural and Pastoral Society wish to advise that after much consideration the 2020 Royal Geelong Show has been cancelled. The current COV...ID-19 restrictions on large gatherings and the uncertainty in the timing of any easing of these restrictions makes the running of the Show extremely difficult. The health and safety of all our members, volunteers, exhibitors, trade sites and the general public is paramount in our decision. Cancelling a Show that is surrounded in such a wealth of history and community engagement was an immensely difficult decision to make. Rest assured that our hard working committee members and volunteers will ensure that we return in 2021. See more

18.01.2022 We are so excited & relieved to share with you all that we have received our DHHS Covid Safe permit to host a tier two event! After months of going back and forth & a little push by Tim Bull MP in Parliament last week our approval has come through. Thank you to our exhibitors for their patience while we navigated these murky and frustrating waters. ... Anyone looking to register can do so via www.egfielddays.com.au Bring on April 23 and 24, 2021

17.01.2022 Is there anyone more deserving of this award? Col is a long time member of our committee and up until recently when health issues have forced him to slow down, he has worked tirelessly to maintain our grounds. He’s a do anything for anyone kind of guy and we are missing his smiling face at our meetings. ... Amazing to see him rewarded for his dedication to making his local community fabulous.

14.01.2022 Your chances of catching avian influenza are small. The H7N7, and H7N6 and H5N2 strains are not a risk to the public. Only people who are in direct contact wit...h sick birds or bird products are considered at risk. People that become infected with H7N7 usually experience mild flu-like symptoms and the virus does not appear to transmit to other people easily. No human illness caused by H5N2 or H7N6 strains have ever been reported. Members of the public who have had contact with birds and are experiencing cold or flu symptoms should seek medical advice. People who live or work on the affected properties have been provided with specific advice and followed up by the Department of Health and Human Services. https://agriculture.vic.gov.au///avian-influenza-bird-flu

04.01.2022 EXCITING ANNOUNCMENT On behalf of the Orbost Agricultural Society I am pleased to announce that we will be running a one off, Special Spring Horse Show on Sund...ay the 22nd of November for our regional Victorian show horse community! There has already been an enormous amount of work put in to making this happen, but time well spent to give us all something to look forward too. There will obviously be a number of new rule and restrictions in place and theses may possibly change between now and the show, so please read the whole program carefully and keep up to date with any changes on our Facebook page. Due to the current climate we have decided not to seek sponsorship, we have had Cameron Outdoor, Snowy River Lodge Motel and Sport Horse Saddlery offer sponsorship that has been greatly valued. If anyone is in a position to offer any sponsorship in any form, if you contact me ASAP I can put you/your company in to the program before it is posted tonight, any further sponsorship would be very much appreciated and would allow us to provide some prizes to our winners. This show will be EA affiliated so will be able to used as a qualification for Barastoc HOTY, however as we have had our annual show this year, and we are optimistic we will be able to hold our 2021 annual show, this event will not be able to be used as a main qualification for Royal shows.
