11.01.2022 We’ve thought long and hard about what to post for #internationalmensday today for a variety of reasons (some of them sad). We have decided to post two pictures of (the late) Edwin and (current nonagenarian) George - the men behind Edwin George Merchant (EGM). We’ve seen a disturbing number of men in our communities recently take their own life. ... We want to dedicate this post to Eddie and George...and all the men in our community to encourage you to reach out to your mates. These two blokes have never been afraid to show their emotions and always do anything for anyone they know. Showing kindness and showing that you care can be as simple as listening and having a chat. They have spent their lives being great blokes who would always be keen for a beer or two with anyone who wants to put the world to rights. Although they never met their love of family, Adelaide, mate-ship and the odd drink would have seen them catch up regularly. Don’t ever suffer in silence and always reach out to your mates.

Rebecca McKenzie our new Associate wasn’t in the office today because she attended her graduation ceremony with University of South Australia . Bec graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) which will assist her greatly in her career in recruitment.... We are super happy for you, Bec!

09.01.2022 If 2020 has taught us anything it’s been to appreciate the things that we sometimes take for granted. This time of year often brings people together with Good Tidings or wishes for Good Health and Happiness. If we can take these Good Tidings from others, evaluate and then put plans into action to ACTIVELY focus on ourselves and those around us...then we’ll create better versions of ourselves and a better world in 2021. 2020 won’t be remembered fondly by many - and for ...good reason. However the team at EGM are still thankful. We’re thankful that even through the disruption our team spirit grew stronger. We’re thankful that our relationships with each other and our clients and candidates did the same. Our relentless approach to raising the bar in what we do helped hundreds of people find their ideal role in a turbulent time. So as we get ready to welcome 2021, to shedding a few well-earned KGs and still writing 2020 on most documents for the first few months - we genuinely wish you Good Tidings, Health and Happiness. We wish all of our friends a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We can’t wait to see you in 2021 to continue the journey together. From our family to yours, Liam Mark Alex Paula Bec Mellisa Amber-Rose Yasmine Helena

04.01.2022 Happy Birthday to Mark Johnson (GAICD) for last week. We got Mark a voucher for an Adelaide Gin Distillery and a BBQ apron to remind him of his Gap Year before uni spent in Ibiza a couple of decades ago...and a reminder that you should never dye your own hair if you don’t know what you’re doing - like recruitment it's always safer to leave it to the experts!

03.01.2022 SA business furious over costly lie - waking up to see SA front page of the The Australian Financial Review. There are some positives to take from this experience: The sense of community in South Australia is strong. ... People got around each other and reached out. People made the effort to virtually get around each other. We acted quickly and effectively. We’ve been lucky to analyse best practice and see that a fast and hard approach is the best way to manage spread. We love local. Despite the hit to local business it has made us even more aware of the importance of supporting local SA organisations. It’s in our best interests, we were doing it before and will be more conscious of it moving forward. Fellow South Australians, we will get through this together

03.01.2022 We’ve done another thing. Download our free 2021 report today. Just add /2021 to our website address (in bio) to discover more www.Egmpartners.com.AU/2021... 2021 will be the year when change at work accelerates. The drive for workers to decide where to work, how work is done, how they’re treated and developed is higher now than any other time in labour market history.

02.01.2022 As previously mentioned, the team at EGM will continue to work hard to connect brilliant candidates with perfect opportunities - please get in contact with the relevant consultant who will continue to be working around the clock for you. To borrow words from the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, Government of South Australia "We will get through this together, stay safe SA" Thank you Steven Marshall and Nicola Spurrier for your swift action.... Some more great words in this letter from Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland : "Although it doesn’t feel like it now, this pandemic will pass it won’t last forever. One day, hopefully soon, we will be looking back on it instead of living through it, so although we are all struggling with this, and believe me we are all struggling, lets pull together, let’s keep going, keep smiling, keep hoping, keep looking out for each other and be strong, be kind, let’s keep acting out of solidarity, We have all made sacrifices but if we stick with it and stick together, I do know we will all get through this."

01.01.2022 We thought we’d get together with a small group at EGM and find out about what the amazing guys at Know Mad Wines are doing @knowmadwines Know Mad Wines is about bringing the life of wine regions to the tables of our customers. Whole regions and townships blossom from wine industries. You cannot meet one person walking down main street who does not have a connection to wine. It is the most beautiful tapestry. In short it’s an SA business that’s showcasing SA wines (busin...esses). They had us at wine tasting but the synergies of supporting SA were there too! Check them out www.knowmadwines.com
