25.01.2022 Fishing Report 12th October 2020 I said it last week and I will say it again, it’s amazing what a week can make in fresh water fishing especially when the heavens open and flood the rivers and make the lake rise rapidly, over 600mm rise in three days. Friday and Saturday morning was the main chance to get a fish in the lake with some fishos trolling up some nice big browns on Tassie devils and the yellow belly fishos vibing around the trees had the smaller 35-40cm browns hitt...ing the lures in what was reported as schools of them. Only a few Murry cod were reported but nothing huge, the odd yella and redfin on yabbies and scrub worms, vibes and size 2 stumpy in pink. The pondage was hard work along with the rivers mainly due to the muddy colour, some fishos that worked hard on Sunday with lures and drift baiting unweighted scrub worms were rewarded but they put a lot of time in on the water. Still better than a day working. As the lake and rivers settle before more rain later this week and a rising barometer the fish should really fire up. Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig See more

25.01.2022 Found at Alliance boat ramp , now located at Eildon bait and tackle.

24.01.2022 Fishing Report 7th September 2020 Well trout season has started and for those that were lucky enough to be able to fish the rivers have had the luxury of some very quiet water ways all to themselves and the fishing was very rewarding. The annual stockings of stonker rainbows had a lot of gear tested with some 11lb fish taken at the Alexandra Bridge, Gilmores and Thornton on mainly power bait. The Fly fishos also had fish strip them to their backing with reports of brown and r...ainbows in good numbers. Eildon pondage is still fishing very well for 3-4kg browns and rainbows to 5kg on powerbait, local dough and lures in krocs. Rattle snacks and pieca little fellas. Areas of the main catches are cemetery, footy oval, bridge and river side drive with very few at burke street. Lake Eildon has some nice cod over a metre taking large swim baits and hard bodies in the late afternoon and into the evening in the Goulbourn arm with smaller fish taking yabbies in the main arm fishing the drop off on the points of coves. Brown trout are becoming more frequent lately flat lining Tassie devils and white plastics. Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig

23.01.2022 Fishing Report 14th December 2020 The Goulburn River and the surrounding rivers are fishing well for small to medium brown and rainbow trout and I even had a report of a Brooke trout caught in the Acheron River near Taggerty as well as a very large 4kg rainbow, all caught on a Peica lure in the black fish colour. The river is now at 3000 Meg a day so you need to fish the edges and back water or concentrate on the structures like bridges and large log jams. Eildon pondage is a...t a low level of around 55% and drops during the day, this is due to a noxious weed that is growing along the edges and has to be sprayed to stop the spread and to avoid any contaminant to the water way. Brown trout to 4kg are the main catch on Mudeyes, maggots, local dough and the old faithful gold kroc with the rainbow taking power bait and pink Tassie devils. River side drive, the bridge and old footy oval are the best spots to try. Lake Eildon has seen plenty of boating activity late in the week and over the weekend but the fish kept on biting with a horse of a brown at 6.5 pound caught flat lining a Tassie devil in woolshed inlet, A 60cm yella caught at the main wall on a yabbie as well as some very nice cod from small 35cm to some really fat 80cm plus on lures slowly trolled along the banks and spinner baits. 23.01.2022 Now Fishos if you are thinking of sneaking out or traveling a distance to come up for tomorrow trout opening just remember fisheries are out with extra help from the north , i know as i was checked tonight by tatura officers. They will put your details in their IPads and this is a government data base, yes our state government so they wont fine you but you will be fined in the future or even worse it could be a nail in the coffin for what or can happen on Sunday, so please hold that urge and hopefully it wont be long and it wont be an offense to do so. Cheers Craig Eildon bait and tackle

22.01.2022 Fishing Report 16th November 2020 Welcome back to our Melbourne Fishos, and the fishing was excellent on all reports (too busy in the shop to get out). The stocked Brown trout in the pondage started to fire taking the old faithful gold kroc, local dough and Mudeyes when the conditions were in favour, some really nice sized rainbows 1-3kg were also caught on power bait, Mudeyes and lures, it was sometimes difficult to fish with fluctuation of the height of the pondage due to t...he increased water flowing down the Goulburn river but when the pondage was full the bait was the go and when it was low or dropping the lures were the choice. The Goulburn River even though flowing fast was still producing some really good fish on maggots and scrub worms in the back waters or along the banks, spinners and shallow divers in the calmer water also did the trick. The Stephenson, Acheron, Rubicon and Snobs creek are worth a look at for some nice sized browns and rainbows. Unweighted scrub worms, Mudeyes and maggots as well as spinners are the go. Lake Eildon had plenty of traffic on it but that didn’t deter the fish with heaps of metre cod beaning caught on large swim baits, surface lures and bibbed divers, and a 1.1mtr caught on scrub worm in the Lake Eildon Mariner off the back of a house boat. There were plenty of yellow bellies caught around the lake from bank and boat with the north side of the main arm towards Frasier National Park for the boats trolling and casting bibbed lure in 3 to 6 metres of water. Bank fishos fishing along the main wall with scrub worms into the night also did well. The odd brown trout were caught first and last light flat lining Tassie devils. 22.01.2022 Very quick fishing report 3 days into our release and the fish are really glad we are back. The pondage has some fun sized brown and rainbows to 35cm on power bait and the odd 4-6lb or 2-3 kg on krocs, rattle snacks and the old faithful tassie.... Redfin, Yellas, trout and some really healthy big cod are out and about in the lake , swim baits for cod and trolling hard bodied lures are doing the job, while scrub worms, yabbies are taking the reddies and yellas, clown coloured tassie are the go-to choice for trout. The Goulburn and joining streams are producing good fish in running water on brown bead headed nymphs, and small hard bodied lures. Some really great fishing 1hr plus from Melbourne, so what are you waiting for. Until next Thursday Fish hard Cheers Craig See more

21.01.2022 Fishing report 20th June 2020 With the barometer being all over the place this week the fishing has been hard toil for those who have spent time on the lake and pondage. The odd trout has been taken flat lining Tassie devils and hard bodied divers, lead line to get them deeper has also produced fish, the main areas to try are the main arm down the Goulbourn arm to goughs bay. Cod are playing the hard game with a lot of doughnuts to many fishos but thats fishing, persistence ...and repeated trips will produce, if its not working try something different. The lucky fishos are getting some nice fish from 80cm to 104cm on swim baits, large bibbless cranks, spinner baits and surface lures. Red fin are still about and surprisingly are full of eggs, they are very spooky so bait seems to be the best method in 8mtr to 12mtrs in the trees, try your rig with no weight to give yourself more of a chance for a hook up. The pondage has been producing the odd small rainbow on powerbait and local dough and the larger speciemens are taking krocs, Tassie devils and pieca lures worked as slow as you can without collecting weed. Murry crays are everywhere in the lake but plenty have eggs, so do the right thing and put them back, if you dont have a boat the pondage is well worth a try as well as the main wall, fish carcases and hearts seem to be the best bait. Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig See more

20.01.2022 We will be opening at 6am tomorrow for all the early birds

19.01.2022 Two nice browns from the pondage by Rob and Baxter with his 2nd cod at 75cm

19.01.2022 Fishing Report 23rd May 2020 The lake has been producing large cod on swim baits and hard bodied lures in the inlets and newly covered ground with the constant rise of the lake. The preferred method is to cast and retrieve along the banks in 4 to 8 metres of water. Yellow belly and redfin are taking scrub worms in the delatite arm, bonnie doon, woolshed inlet, goughs bay and the trees around the entrance to big river. Again only spend 30 minutes per tree until you find a sc...hool willing to play the game. Flat lining Tassie devils in the main arm to goughs bay are producing brown trout up to 2.5 kg but mainly around the 1.5 kg size. Colour preference is not really an issue but pink and white are the main colours producing. The Goulbourn and adjoining creeks and streams have some very nice brown and rainbow trout on spinners, peica, rapala, bmax, bibbed lures. The fly fishos are using glow bugs, brown bead headed nyphms. The pondage is still producing 30 to 35cm rainbow trout on power bait and local dough, the larger rainbows and brown trout are taking wonder krocs, peica lures and Tassie devils along with mudeyes. Burke st and river side drv are the areas to bait fish with power bait. The upper pondage is the place to target the large browns. Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig See more

14.01.2022 Fishing Report 5th October 2020 It’s amazing how quick things can turn around in the world of fishing. This time last week there was snow on the hills and the rivers were flowing hard and cold but that was last week, now we have days in the mid-20s and the water has warmed up and so have the fish. Lake Eildon has produced more metre plus fish in a weekend than I’ve ever seen, huge brown trout taking just about any lure that goes past, Yellow belly and Redfin feeding on the fl...ats and schooling up around the timber and drop offs. Trolling the edge of the timber or just in it on the inside of the lake is where most trout seem to be during the day, but first and last light they are feeding closer to the banks with heaps of reports from cod fishos saying they have had large trout follow and attack their swim baits and large lures meant for cod. Yellow belly and redfin are being caught from the banks in the inlets and shallow water on worms and yabbies as well as grubbing or bobbing around the trees, Delatite arm, Jerusalem creek towards the camp grounds, flats in Big River, Goughs bays and Coller bay are the spots to target. Murry cod are moving about and the usual areas are producing with 35cm to metre plus being caught on lures, swim baits, surface lures, spinner baits and yabbies and worms. Land based fishos are picking them up on worms, cheese and yabbies along the main wall and the main boat ramp at night. Remembering that the is a closed season on cod now for all rivers and streams but not lake Eildon, but the problem here is the rivers that come into the lake are becoming larger as the lake fills. So to my understanding on this is these rivers are defined as running water so my friends in fisheries have stated if the water is running past you or your boat, you are fishing in the river, so be aware of this when chase cod The rivers are still running hard but have cleared up well and some really nice wild fish and stonkers are taking spinners, shallow divers, flies and bait. The pondage has been up and down in water levels so when it’s down the old faithful gold kroc and pink Tassie are the choice and powerbait, local dough and maggots are the go to when it’s up . Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig See more

13.01.2022 Fishing Report 14th June 2020 The rivers may be closed for trout season but the Pondage and Lake are opened all year round and with 400 rainbow trout just been released around the 400 gram size this should fire up some of the bigger more resident trout in the pondage. They have been very hard to catch over the past two weeks due to their instinct to spawn but persistence will pay off, krocs, Tassie devils and pieca lures very slowly retrieved have enticed the old very large b...rowns and rainbows , power bait and local dough are still worth using for the smaller rainbows. The lake is fishing really well with plenty of cod, trout, redfin and the odd yellow belly. Flat lining Tassie devils and rapala spotted dogs or even a scrub worm behind a ford fender or cow bell are working in the main arm all the way down the Goulburn arm to the Howqua inlet. Swim baits and size 1 stump jumpers are the main go to for the large cod, fish the 4-8 metre zone in the inlets and coves. Cheese, yabbies, and scrub worms off the bank in Coller bay, Jerusalem creek and the main wall. Redfin are taking scrub worms and yabbies in 8-10 metres of water around the trees in the Delatite arm, Italian bay, Coller bay and Goughs bay, Yellow belly are a bye catch in the same areas and are being caught off the banks in the Delatite arms at night on yabbies and scrub worms. Murry crays are on the move and can be caught in the pondage and lake with a drop net, minimum and maximum sizes apply and females in berry must be returned immediately to the water. Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig

12.01.2022 MURRINDINDI SCENIC RESERVE HAS IT ALL The Murrindindi Scenic Reserve comprises 815 hectares of mixed species forest, which includes waterfalls, tree fern... gullies and an abundance of birds and mammals. Pitch a tent and make a weekend of it as there are plenty of opportunities to pass the time including bush walking, bird watching, picnicking and fishing. The Murrindindi River Walk which passes through most of the camping spots is a great place to begin to explore. Its 12 km end to end and leads up to the Cascades waterfall for those after a challenge or enjoy a shorter walk taking in one of the many footbridges crossing the river amongst open forest and fern gullies. Wilhelmina Falls, a 75m waterfall is a perfect day activity, as the approx. 2 hour return hike starts at the Water Gauge campsite and winds its way to the foot of the falls before ascending over more challenging ground to the top. Here youll find spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges from the viewing platform. The Murrindindi Scenic Reserve has 6 great camping areas with 100 campsites spread out along the river. Flush toilets are located at Suspension Bridge, Ferns and Bull Creek campsites, with non-flush toilets at the remainder. There are two designated picnic areas and numerous picnic tables and well constructed fire places near most campsites. Camping is on a first-come, first-served basis and no bookings are required, but early arrival is advisable during peak periods and at popular locations. There is a modest fee per car, per night which can be paid at the Information Board as you drive in. All revenue raised from these fees is reinvested back into the Reserve so that it remains attractive and usable for future visitors. Sorry no dogs allowed here. How do you find this magical place? From Melbourne, travel along the Melba Highway to the intersection of Murrindindi Road just before Devlins Bridge. Turn right and drive 10 km to the Reserve. Wilhelmina Falls and Murrindindi Cascades can be accessed further along this road from Water Gauge Camp and Cascades Picnic Area. 12.01.2022 Fishing Report 19th October 2020 With the lake rising there is plenty of new ground to target and the fish are feeding in the shallow water. First and last light seem to be the main times to target these areas, especially for Murry cod on surface lures, jackals and their imitation vibes are also working on the yellow belly. During the day slow trolling spinner baits and lures along the steep rock cliffs finding the yellow belly is the go then once they are found throw out the... vibes, soft plastics or spinner baits. Yabbies and scrub worms are also working well in the shallows and around the trees close to the banks for redfin and yellow belly. The Goulburn arm near sanders point, Maintongoon inlet and the Delatite arm are the hot spots but after yesterday’s reports they seem to be moving into the main arm. The pondage is still dirty but with a release of exbrood stock rainbows late last week it was game on with some nice 2kg plus size fish caught on powerbait and this also stirred up some brown trout that took local dough, maggots and mudeye The Goulburn river was fishing well during the week with some lovely rainbows and browns taking lures, powerbait, Mudeyes, and maggots but again after the rain and the rivers the join the Goulburn still flowing hard has discoloured the water again but it is clearing up ,so find the slower water and you will find the fish. Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig

10.01.2022 Fishing Report 31st August 2020 Cod closed season is now upon us as is the cray season but as of 11.59pm Friday 4th September the rivers will be opened to trout without the crowds and festival. The pondage is still fishing very well for large brown trout and small 500-800 gram rainbows with the odd bigger specimen being caught, local dough and berley with the odd powerbait strike the main go for the bait fishos, lures in krocs, Tassie and small divers for the lure enthusiast...s and black woolly bugger for the fly fishos. Lake Eildon has seen next to no boats at all due to weather conditions and the distance to travel to get to it. The few that have ventured out bagged out on crays before closure and some nice size trout taking pink and white Tassie devils in the main arm , Redfin and Yellow belly have been very quiet along with cod, maybe something to do with the amount of food and the rapid rise in the lake. As we look forward to restrictions easing we will hopefully see more people about having a fish and enjoying the outdoors. Last one Lake Eildon never closes to regulations; it is the only water way north of the great divide that you can target Murry cod all year. Until next week Fish hard Cheers Craig Cooper with his rainbow trout caught on local dough in the pondage

10.01.2022 Fishing Report 23rd November 2020 The Goulbourn River is at a steady flow now and the fishing has been a lot better with more access and less of a current to contend with, using vibrax spinners in gold, pieca lures in red belly colour and orange frog, F5 Rapalas in rainbow and brown trout being cast along the edges have produced some nice fish both wild and stocked up to 4kg rainbows and plenty of browns around the 1.5kg. The pondage was slow on the weekend mainly due to the ...slow falling water during the day and very little water being topped up at night but there were some really nice browns and rainbows caught on the local dough and Mudeyes and offcourse the gold kroc and pink Tassie devil. Lake Eildon is still on fire for Murry cod and yellow belly for both bank and boat fishos, trolling divers in the 3 to 8 metres, grubbing up the trees, vibing, surface lures and swim baits along with yabbies and scrub worms are all producing fish. The north bank of the main arm all the way towards Bonnie Doon are really hot spots to try while Jerusalem creek, Goughs Bay, Howqua inlet are worth a shot. The main wall is starting to see more cod in larger size showing up and this is a great spot to try from the bank. Brown trout to 5lb or 2.5kg are taking Tassie devils trolled in deeper water using parvane or lead line. Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig See more

09.01.2022 Fishing Report 21st September 2020 With restrictions easing for country Victoria the local rivers and lake were a buzz with families getting out for day trips and overnight stays, and the fishing was unbelievable. Trout are being caught in the big river arm, main a...rm and towards the Delatite arm trolling the old faithful Tassie devils in pink and white, while the yellas are starting to show up taking lures casting into the shallows of the bays, coves and inlets. Bait fishing with yabbies and worms or the grubbing method is also working well. Small to 65cm Murry cod and the odd metre fish are out and about taking large hard bodies slowly trolled in 6 to 10mtrs of water. Eildon pondage has had the school holiday stocking of small 300-400 gram rainbows which has seen some kids catching, but the larger rainbows and browns are still there, power bait, local dough, maggots and Mudeyes are the go for the bait fishos as the old trusty gold kroc is doing damage. The rivers are fishing well for small to some larger browns taking scrub worms and Mudeyes , spinners and small shallow divers also while the rainbows are taking scrub worms, power bait ,Tassie devils, divers and fly’s, woolly buggers, weighted nymphs, duns and royal wolfe. Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig See more

07.01.2022 Why not brave the weather conditions and head up to eildon to try your luck, you can fish the pondage and lake all year round

07.01.2022 Fishing Report 10th July 2020 The pondage is still producing large brown trout on gold krocs, pink Tassie devils and Peica lures with the bridge between the upper and low pondage the main area to target. But as of now the pondage is at 82% well above the 38% we have seen all week so these fish will be wide spread. My suggestion would be to target the tail race areas, burke st and riverside drive towards the gates to the Goulburn. Rainbow trout are taking powerbait and local d...ough and are wide spread throughout the pondage with bag limit catches reported at burke st, river side drive, the footy oval and johns hole. Brown trout are back on the chew in the lake taking slowly trolled lures with and without ford fenders/cow bells, f11 and f9 Rapalas, clown pattern Tassie devils and stump jumpers size1 yes size 1(they are hungry) and big trout in really great condition. Cod are still about with more reports of them taking hard bodied lures trolled and cast along the banks in the shallows; Jamison and Howqua inlet are the main areas. Yellow belly and redfin are still taking worms and yabbies in Goughs bay, Delatite arm, Woolshed inlet, 8-13 metres is the depth to target around the timber. Until next week Fish Hard and Stay Safe Cheers Craig See more

07.01.2022 Need anything we are opened now and will be at 6am tomorrow

06.01.2022 Fishing Report 17th August 2020 Eildon Pondage is still on fire with many locals getting their bag limit of Brown trout around 3-4kg and the odd Rainbow of 800 grams, berleying up is the key and local dough is the main bait of choice with the odd fish taking powerbait. Green Frog pattern Pieca lures, gold and orange rattle snacks and the old faithful gold kroc are the lures of choice. The lower pondage is the main area to target. The lake has brown trout being taken flat lini...ng Tassie devils in the big river arm down towards Goughs bay, main arm and down near bonnie Doon. Redfin and yellow belly are taking yabbies and scrub worms in the woolshed area and towards the Delatite arm, try and use as little weight as possible as they are very shy and will drop your bait with the first sign of weight. Cod are still about with the odd smaller fish being boated (season is changing) swim baits, spinner baits, hard bodied and plastics are working well. There is little to no traffic on the water so finding your favourite spot angler free is virtually guaranteed. With only 15 days left of Murry cray season, now is the time to get out and try your luck Until next week Fish Hard and Stay Safe Cheer Craig See more

06.01.2022 Fishing Report 5thJuly 2020 Eildon pondage has had its school holiday stockings of 500 rainbow trout average 300gms and 100 exbrood stock brown trout average 3kg, so this should fire things up nicely. Before these releases some really nice rainbow and browns were being caught on lures slowly retrieved, power bait, maggots and a great fish of 5.5kg on an unweighted scrub worm. The lake is still producing Redfin and Yellow Belly from Coller bay to the Delatite arm on scrub worm...s and yabbies in 6-13mtrs of water right up in the trees, Big River is also producing the odd yella on scrub worms fished from the bank. Flat lining for trout in the main arm down to Goughs bay with Tassie devils and bibbed lures but also casting into the timber just to break it up is also working. Cod are still taking swim baits, bibbless cranks and deep divers around Howqua inlet Big River and Jerusalem creek, target the shallows and mix it up as they seem to be getting use to the swim baits. For the dedicated Murry Cray enthusiasts they are out and about in the pondage and lake but there are a lot of females in berry that must be returned to the water See more

06.01.2022 Fishing Report 14th September 2020 With the second weekend done and dusted for the trout season and the weather being fantastic the rivers and pondage had a lot of traffic with some very nice fish being taken. Every man and their dog seem to be chasing the stonkers that have been released into the river and there have been some real thumpers, the old 10lb plus fish or 4.5kg are very common taking lures from small shallow divers, spinners, soft plastics, woolly bugger and wool...ly worms for the fly fishos. Powerbait in sherbet and pink along with maggots as burley have produced most fish in this week in both the pondage and rivers, main spots are still the three bridges, but it is worth a walk as the recent environmental flow has seen some of the fish move up and down stream to other areas. The Pondage has had the largest rainbows that I’ve seen caught to date with three fish at 16lb and plenty 10lb plus caught on local dough, powerbait, gold krocs and rattle snacks. The brown trout that have been the main catches of late are starting become more cunning and the more experienced fishos are even having trouble enticing them to take bait or lure. Lake Eildon has been very quiet still this week with mainly brown trout taking Tassie devils flat lining the main arm. The odd cod has been caught but again the lack of people traveling the is little to no boat activity on the lake, but hopefully that will change very soon .With the weather warming up the yellow belly and redfin should start to fire along with more catches of smaller less mature cod. Until next week Fish Hard Cheer Craig See more

05.01.2022 Fishing Report 28th September 2020 Lake Eildon is warming up both temperature wise and fishing wise with some really nice size brown trout being caught flat lining around the timber that is slowly being swallowed up by the rising water, No 4, 50 and 55 Tassie devils are the main choice while they are also taking larger lures that are meant for cod. The main arm again is the area to target and the tree line leading into Big River. Murry cod are moving around again and even tho...ugh they are to the smaller side some very nice 60 -70 cm specimens have been caught. The more conventional way of slowly trolling the edges of the lake and bait fishing seems to be the go to. Yellow belly are really starting to fire up around all the lake for both bank and boat fishos worms and yabbies are on the menu around the points and timber for the boats and the flats for the land based. Red fin are taking scrub worms around the mariners and in 12-15 metres of water in the trees that are virtually submerged. Eildon pondage has been very low for most of the week but is now around the 80% full which will see the fishing improve, small family fish are the main catch on power bait, while local dough, Mudeyes and maggots have seen some really nice brown trout being landed. Gold krocs, Tassie devils and Peica lures are also working well. The Goulbourn River has discoloured after the rain but there are still plenty of fish biting on power bait, unweighted scrub worms, maggots, spinners, shallow divers and spinners. The main areas are still worth trying but the fish have moved around more due to the extra flow so some walking is required to find them. Until Next Week Fish Hard Cheers Craig See more

05.01.2022 My grandson Harry lost a tackle box full of lures while fishing at different locations on the Rubicon and the Royston today. A big loss for a 16 year old who lives and breathes fishing. Please let Craig at Eildon Bait and Tackle know if you find it. The most recognisable feature is a large Strike Tiger sticker on the lid.

04.01.2022 Fishing Report 9th November 2020 With the stocking of 120 ex brood stock brown trout into the pondage, 10,000 brown fingerlings and 150 stonker rainbows released into the river this week the fishing will be excellent. Power bait in both the river and pondage will do the damage on the rainbows, while maggots and Mudeyes will tempt the browns, soft plastics in 2 and bright colours, shallow divers and spinners with the ever reliable krocs and Tassie devils are the shot for the ...lure fishos. This time of the year the hatches late in the arvo to evening of duns and moths have seen the fly fishos doing well on nymphs, duns and woolly buggers in orange. Lake Eildon is still producing brown trout around 1-2kg flat lining Tassie devils in pink and white first and last light then the divers are the go as the day warms up. Yellow belly are the main targeted fish taking soft plastics, vibes, stump jumper lures, yabbies and worms. Delatite, Wool shed, Taylor bay, Goughs bay, Howqua inlet and Jerusalem creek are the areas to try, as for the bank fishos the main wall, Lake Side camp ground, Jerusalem creek camping area and the pines are the spots. Murry Cod are moving around more now and there are some small 20-35cm specimens to the larger 85 plus being caught slowly trolling the banks, casting surface lures and large plastics in the coves and inlets all around the lake. Until Next Week Fish Hard Cheers Craig See more

04.01.2022 Fishing Report 27th October 2020 Yellow Belly and more Yellow Belly are on fire in the lake for fishos casting bibbless cranks, spinner baits, divers, yabbies and worms. Both from the bank or a boat, the main wall, Jerusalem creek, Lake Side, Devils cove, Pines, Goughs Bay, and Bonnie Doon are all hot spots for shore based fishos while the Delatite arm, Mc Donald Island, Sanders point, and Big River are great spots to target from a boat. Murry Cod have been quiet with most of... the fishos targeting the yellas but the dedicated are using surface lure at first light and into the night, the inlets and coves are your best option. Redfin are small and a by catch will fishing for the yellas but as the water warms up we should see some bigger fish being landed. On Thursday 350 stonker rainbow trout were released into the Goulburn river at Thornton Beach, Gilmores Bridge and Break Away which saw some nice fish being caught on Friday until the rain set in and turn the rivers very fast and dirty and virtually unfishable, the pondage was the same just when it was starting to clear up, but we can’t have the lake filling up and clear rivers at the same time. As the rivers and pondage settle down the fishing will again fire up and powerbait for the rainbows, Mudeyes for the browns for the bait fishos and small shallow divers, spinners and dry flies will also produce. 04.01.2022 Fishing Report 18th July 2020 The Pondage is at a more stable height now with only 400meg going down the river. This has seen fish being caught in all areas of the pondage on powerbait in orange pulp and chunky cheese, the ever reliable gold kroc and pink Tassie devil for the lure enthusiasts and brown woolly worm, green bead headed nymph and brown or green woolly bugger for the fly fishos. The lake has been hard going for the first start to the week with the easterly winds b...lowing with only main reports from the main arm and the Delatite arm flat lining Tassie devils for brown trout. Things change very quickly with some large cod and brown trout back on the chew but you do need to put the time and effort in to be rewarded. Murry crays are really starting to move now it is colder and it is easy to get your bag limit using fish or sardines for bait in 6 to 15 metres of water along the clay banks. Look for the holes along the edge just above the water line. Until next week Fish Hard Cheers Craig See more

While boats working the trees, submerged timber and rocky edges using bibbless cranks, soft plastic grubs, spinner baits and divers, yabbies and worms are really having a great time catching these fish that are schooling up. Murry cod are taki...ng surface lures at first and last light, divers ,bibles cranks, spinner baits and chatter baits and are being a by catch for those who are chasing the yellow belly. Redfin are about and should really start to fire up as the water warms up, try the heavy timbered areas of woolshed inlet ,Goughs bay, Taylor bay and big river. The pondage is slowly clearing up and there are some monster brown trout taking Mudeyes, local dough and lures. Rainbow trout around the 2kg size are taking power bait, local dough and maggots, berleying up is the main key and stay in the one spot and the fish will eventually show up. The Goulburn River is still producing some cracking fish taking power bait, bright coloured spinners, shallow divers, orange bead headed woolly buggers, duns, nymphs, white Cahill. Rubicon, Snobs and the Acheron rivers are slowing down in flow and some nice size browns and rainbows can be had using scrub worms, spinners, soft plastics and dry flies. 01.01.2022 Fishing Report 30th November 2020 Eildon pondage was a bit hit and miss this weekend with some fishos finding it hard to sit and watch fish swim by and not take anything that was on offer, and then you had the lucky ones who were in the right place at the right time. Brown trout to 9lb were taking Mudeyes under a float and rainbows around 2lb were also taking Mudeyes, powerbait, local dough and maggots. The dropping level of the pondage was the main reason for the slow bite, ...but when it stopped and starts to fill again it was game on with the old trusty gold kroc and pieca lures doing the damage. The Goulburn River was fishing excellent with double figure catches on spinners and fly’s as well as scrub worms and powerbait, even a $2000 tagged fish was caught at Thornton Caravan Park. The Rubicon River and the smaller creeks are producing some really nice fish around 35cm to some larger fish taking scrub worms unweighted and small spinners. Lake Eildon is absolutely on fire for cod and big cod, yellow belly and brown trout. Cod are taking everything and really anything of any size from worms to large swimbaits. Fishing the coves and rock ledges or slow trolling the banks in 6mtrs of water seems to be the best area to target. Trout are taking divers, Tassie, and Rapalas early morning and late in the day in 15 to 30mtrs of water then parvane or lead core line during the day. Yellow belly can be found amongst the timber and steep rock ledges and you may be lucky enough to nail a good size redfin, yabbies and scrub worms, spinner baits, grubbing and bibbless cranks are all working. 01.01.2022 Fishing Report 10th August 2020 The pondage is on fire at the moment with the recent stocking of ex brood browns firing up the more resident fish. The main bite time is late morning through to dark due to the rise in water temperature, Local dough , powerbait , maggots and scrub worms are the main go with the odd one taking lures in black and gold rattle snacks. You need to berley up and be consistent with your berley to hold the fish in your area. The browns are averaging 3k...g and the odd rainbow 2kg with some smaller 500grm fish. The lake has little to no traffic on it and there are some nice 45cm browns taking Tassie devils, King cobras, Rapala F11 or F9. Murry cod are taking surface lures in and around Taylor Bay, Bolte Bay, hard bodied lures in the Delatite arm and swim baits towards Jamieson. Redfin are taking worms and yabbies cocktails unweighted in 8 to 13mtrs of water in the trees from Taylor Bay to Bonnie Doon, single standing trees seem to hold more fish and you could be lucky to pick up a yella as well. Murry crays are still moving and the north side of the main arm is the hot spot, but the best time is from 11.00pm through to day break for the real serious. See more
