There is method to my madness, mostly madness, but a little method.... God, I need a drink just thinking about this!!!
18.01.2022 Sunday 21st May we were invited to attend the Variety Club 4WD Challenge's Medieval Feast at the Principality of Hutt River. Lord Smee, the Ladies Sigyn and Lovedaya and I all made the wet and wild trip through a torrential downpour to bring a TRG Medieval lilt to the evening. We included bygone aspects of ‘The Ten Shalt Not’s’, time in the stock, ‘Pass the Parcel’, a combat tournament and a beheading in the evenings retinue. As a tribute to the fighting ‘underdog’ Smee, the ...40 odd Variety bashers kicked of a rousing song of ‘What about Smee’ to the lyrics and tune of Moving Picture’s ‘What about Me’. It was very well done and extremely amusing! We were honoured to meet Their Royal Highnesses Prince Graeme, Prince Leonard and Prince Richard and had quite a good chat with each of them. Princes Graeme and Richard attended the Feast celebration for a time and were amused and entertained by our antics, and grateful to the Variety 4WD basher’s commitment to supporting Variety’s Children’s Charity. Our thanks go out to Bill Chidgzey for asking us to be a part of this fabulous event, the generosity of the 4WD Challengers, and lastly but by no means least the Principality of Hutt River for allowing the event to take place within their realm, and for being so approachable. My thanks to Smee, Sigyn & Lovedaya for taking the time and effort to represent the TRG in what I can only describe as such an auspicious occasion, that I’ll not soon forget. *BOW* Yours in Service Einar Firebeard TRG Sénéchal
16.01.2022 I would again like to thank ALL the members of the Balingup Medieval Carnivale Committee and the myriad of volunteers that helped plan, execute, setup, maintain and pack-down and cleanup this years 20th BMC. Thanks also to the entertainers and the vendors for being a part of this magical weekend. Additional thanks to the medieval minded folk of the Twin River Guard, The Grey Company , Knights of the Free Company and the SCA for their friendly rivalries, conversation and abuse which flows freely within and between these groups adding to the value of the entire event starting at Friday’s setup. Looking forward to seeing you all again in the near future, and again at the 2017 BMC! Hazzah! Hazzah! Hazzah!
