25.01.2022 One reason why you could use some chiropractic care

25.01.2022 Our doors remain open. We are taking every step and following strict hygiene protocols set by the governing health authorities to minimise the risk of covid 19 transmission. Patients are encouraged to stay home if they experience a fever, cough, sore throat and a loss of their sense of smell.... Patients that have close contact with a positive case are required to get tested and self isolate for 14+ days. Your therapists stay home if they or their close contacts feel unwell, and get tested before they return back to work. Temperature checks are taken before treatment. Hand sanitiser is available at reception and in every treatment room. Your therapists wash their hands with warm soapy water before and after every treatment. Your therapist may wear a mask during your treatment and you are welcome to wear one as well. We have applied for free face masks from the government however we are still waiting on a response. Masks are not mandatory however they are very much encouraged. Treatment tables and tools used are washed and disinfected before and after every treatment. Towels and pillow coverings are changed after every treatment. Reception desk, efpos machine, pens, clipboards, tables, chairs, light switches, hand rails, taps and door handles are washed and disinfected daily. Patients are encouraged to use tap and go instead of cash. Our toys have been packed away. We look forward to seeing you back .

24.01.2022 #Repost @tonitalkstherapy We can build resilience to stress, through daily practices that seem hella boring, but work. These practices help widen your window of tolerance. They help support your nervous system's capacity to cope. They help raise your thresholdfor stressful stuff. They help you recover more effectively after stressful events.... SLEEP: have a bedtime routine. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day. Drink bedtime tea. Turn off screens an hour before bed. Use yoga nidra to fall asleep if you're struggling. WATER: Have a cup near you most of the day. Set reminders to drink a cup every hour. FOOD: Eat enough and often. Let yourself snack. Release the idea that a "salad" is the only healthy option. Sometimes emotional eating is okay. Be mindful and compassionate with yourself around food. CONNECT: Call your friends. Text one person daily. Set up virtual hangouts. Reach out, even if you don't know what to say or if you'll get a response. Connection keeps us sane. MOVEMENT: Find movement that releases stress. This might be exercise. It might be dance, sex, walking, yoga, stretches between meetings, who knows! Find ways to move that feel good. NATURE: Look out the window for 10 minutes. Check in with your indoor plant friends. Go outside if you can. We are not made for screens. Nature regulates the nervous system. What helps you build stress resilience? Where do you need some attention? See more

24.01.2022 The Victorian Government released their Covid Roadmap on Sunday. We are still waiting on clarifications and remain uncertian of how Eir FC&W will be affected by the changes. At this stage, we know that the current restrictions (Level 4) have been extended by another 2 weeks. We will keep you updated as soon as we know more. All allied health associations are fighting for our rights to treat patients without restrictions. We need an escape plan, not a roadmap that looks li...ke a game of snakes and ladders. We want to remind you that our doors remain open to those who need us urgently. If your condition becomes unmanageable at home or if the intensity of your pain becomes too severe, then we are allowed to help you. If you don't meet the criteria for care, then we are happy to answer any questions and provide advice via a phone call, sms, email, messenger video or zoom. #eirfcw #eirfamilychiropractic #eirfamilychiropracticandwellness #altonameadows #seabrook #pointcookroad #pointcook #weneedanescapeplan #chiro #chiropractic #covid #heretohelp #melbournelockdown See more

22.01.2022 When in doubt, dont go out. - Unless it is for essential services such as care. Chiropractic, remedial massage and nutrition consultations are still available at Eir Family Chiropractic & Wellness. We even have massage appointments available today with James, but be quick and book online. unknown Read the book titles from top left to bottom right.

20.01.2022 Spring clean your insides like you do your homes. Declutter and get rid of junk. Our bodies will thank us for cutting down on sugar, caffeine, alcohol and processed foods. Cleaning your insides can be tricky. But with support from our Nutritionist Renée, your body can rid itself of toxins gently. And finally, open up the windows to let in some fresh air. Get outside and fill your lungs. Remember to wear your masks if you're not in your own backyard. #eirfamilychiropracticandwellness #eirnutrition #altonameadowsnutrition

19.01.2022 What do the new Melbourne Stage 4 restrictions mean for us? Chiropractic is an allied health service regulated by AHPRA. We are permitted to remain open, but it is NOT business as usual. Chiropractic care is now only available if your condition is urgent and essential. You do NOT need a referral from you GP.... We have been advised that treatment must only be provided if the absence of, or delay of this care, would result in a significant change/deterioration in your functional independence necessitating escalation of care. Examples provided by the DHHS of when it is appropriate for care to be provided to a patient include the following: 1. To avoid a requirement for specialist input/review; 2. To avoid an increase in care needs and/or alternate accommodation; 3. To avoid a hospital admission or emergency department presentation. Stage 4 restrictions are aligned to Victoria's current State of Disaster and are understandably focused on saving and protecting lives. We are all in this together and abiding by these new laws for the greater good. Nutritional consultations are still available via phone or zoom. You can still book these appointments by phone or online and we will contact you. Remedial massage is sadly paused. We are still here for you even if your condition is not considered urgent and essential. You can contact us via phone, messenger or email and we will do our very best to help. Sadly, we just cannot provide face-to-face treatment. If you deteriorate significantly, have a new moderate to severe injury, or think that without our treatment youll end up in hospital, please make sure you book an appointment via phone or online. If you currently have an appointment booked in, expect a call from us in the next few days to discuss your options. Thank you for your support See more

19.01.2022 Stage 4 restricitons have come to Melbourne but we are still OPEN. Health care is still one reason you can leave your home. You may travel more than 5kms to seek care or provide care. All patients receive an appointment confirmation via sms and/or email which you can show as proof. Further restrictions are expected later today and we will do our best to keep you updated and to help answer any questions you may have.... We still have our strict hygiene protocols in place and are making further changes to help minismise the risk. We want to thank you for your support during these stressful times

18.01.2022 Each year 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness. RUOK? Day is a reminder to check in with our friends and families. But sometimes we are unprepared on how to best respond when our mates share their struggles. Do you know what to say or what to do when they tell you they are in fact not ok? Do you know which helplines and which resources are available? Did you know there are mental health first aid courses available online? #mentalhealthfirstaidaustralia #ruokday2020

17.01.2022 Usually we wait a really long time and we long for the next season to start. This is not one of those shows. This season has come too soon. This show gets a terrible review on rotten tomatoes. Fingers crossed, this covid show will not be a 'bold and the beautiful' with its 33 seasons and 8000+ episodes. Luckily we remain open as our team of allied health therapists are considered essential. ... But our hours have changed. 16.01.2022 25% of those experiencing pain admit it impacts their performance at work and a third reveal they find it more difficult doing everyday household chores, with one in 10 revealing their pain prevents them playing with their children. Don't be a statistic. Don't let pain stop you from doing the things you love. Help is at hand. ... 16.01.2022 Lockdown is tough. For families who need a break from the chaos. For working parents who are struggling to meet deadlines. For those who are missing their friends. For new parents without a support group. For prep students who were looking forward to starting school. For single parents juggling on their own. For year 6 students preparing for high school. For vulnerable beings in a violent relationship. For year 12 students studying for their finals. For families who simply m...iss each other. And for those who are riding out this storm all alone, we can only imagine how lonely and scary it must be. Lockdown is tough for all. We need to take it one day at a time. And be present for those who need help. So please reach out if you need someone to talk to. You can call, sms, email or video chat. We are here and ready to listen. (I do appologise before hand for my noisy kids in the background. But they are always happy to tell a joke to help spread laughter and smiles.) #lockdown #lockdown2020 #covid #altonameadows #seabrook #melbourne #pointcook #pointcookroad

15.01.2022 We are closed tomorrow for Melbourne Cup Day We are open again at 10am on Thursday

15.01.2022 Surround yourself with positive people. Unless of course they are covid positive, then dont. With Melbourne lockdown 4 restrictions and curfew in place, you should stay home. Unless of course you are heading out for essential shopping, essential work, or essential care. Chiropractic care is still considered an essential service. We have altered our hours (again) so that we can all get home before 8pm. ... What a strange world we live in. I never thought the day would come where my cats have a later curfew than I. Positivity and hope are contagious. Even more contagious than covid perhaps. So lets do our best to uplift each other, smile, spread joy and appreciate the many little things. Turn off the tv and go soak up some sunshine.

13.01.2022 UNO #thursdayfun #laughterisgoodmedicine #fingerscrossed the numbers will keep dropping and all the restrictions will lift

13.01.2022 We are cautiously optimistic that the restrictions will be eased in 2 weeks on September 28th. So what will this new Stage 3 mean for us? We assume (and hope) that Melbourne stage 3 will be the same as Regional Victoria's current level of restrictions.... This means we can open our doors again for everyone and not be limited to urgent emergency appointments. We already have a Covid Safe Plan in place, we will still be wearing our masks and face shields, and we will forever more keep the strict hygiene standards set to minimise the risk of spread. #eirfamilychiropracticandwellness #eirchiro #eirnutrition #eirmassage #altonameadowsmassage #altonameadowschiro #altonameadowsnutrition See more

13.01.2022 We are another month closer to Spring and to warmer and brighter times! The variety and availability of fruit hasnt changed much this month and doesnt tend to fluctuate during the Winter months. In short, theres lots of Apple, Pears and Citrus, though you might struggle to get Limes by the end of the month. Theres also lots of Strawberries from the Sunshine Coast. For Veggies, you can still get your Brassicas, Carrots and Potatoes, and therell be Asparagus and Purpl...e Garlic coming on towards the end of the month. You might see a short supply of Beans, Giant Garlic and Ginger, and now might be your last chance to grab Jerusalem Artichoke and Bunched Beetroot so get pickling to keep some for a later date. As we start to ease out of the Winter months, remember to keep eating all of your colours to stay healthy and happy. #organic #certifiedorganic #trustorganic #inseason #whatsinseason

10.01.2022 Hi everyone, I've put together a little eBook on 'Brain Boosting Nutrients', it outlines the key nutrients required to optimise a child's learning and cognition.... 08.01.2022 #Repost @the.nurturing.nutritionist (@get_repost) Is your child always sick? Do they constantly have a runny nose, blocked sinuses, allergies, eczema or chronic ear infections with frequent antibiotic use. Did you know that vitamin and mineral deficiencies and poor gut health can greatly impact on your childs immunity, increasing their susceptibility to infection?... These deficiencies can cause picky eating, resulting in further deficiencies. Key nutrients essential for immune function are zinc, vitamin C and vitamin D, and vitamin A. But how do you know if your child has deficiencies? There are actually lots of physical signs to look for, such as poor wound healing, white spots on nails, brittle nails, pale conjunctiva, cracks in the corners of the mouth, pink spots on the tongue, mouth ulcers, pale coating on tongue, or ridges on the nails. My youngest child was constantly sick as a child, he had chronic ear infections, always had a snotty nose, had eczema, even had a pneumonia a few times, and had so many courses of antibiotics, which destroyed all of his good gut bacteria, which only worsened his immunity. It was through blood tests that we found what deficiencies he had and with proper supplementation, he became a new child! Having a good working immune system doesnt mean your child wont catch the odd seasonal cold, but they shouldnt be sick for weeks at a time, consistently throughout the year. Please reach out if you suspect your child has nutrient deficiencies or is always sick. #healthykids #poorimmunesystem #deficiencies #guthealthy #antibiotics #earinfections #naturalhealing #functionalmedicine #pyrroles #childrenshealth #nutritionist #physicalsigns #coldandflu #eczema #skinhealth #allergies #zinc #zincimmunity #alwayssick

04.01.2022 #Repost @the.nurturing.nutritionist Hello Spring, hello Hay-fever season. For many, this brings coughing and sneezing, itchy and irritated eyes, runny or blocked nose, congested sinuses, or an itchy throat.... This kind of reaction is due to an immune response from inhaling pollen or dust, this triggers antibodies to be produced. These antibodies bind to mast cells which causes the release of histamine, resulting in itching, swelling and an increase of mucus production. Its common for people to take antihistamines to reduce the allergy response and find some relief. There are however natural ways to reduce the allergy response. Quercetin is an antioxidant that acts as an anti-histamine by stabilising the mast cells and inhibiting histamine release. Quercetin can be found in apples, onions, pears, kale, broccoli and berries Onions contain the highest amounts of quercetin, however to achieve the recommend intake to reduce an allergy response, youd need to eat about 2kg of onions a day, no thanks This is where good quality practitioner only supplements come in handy Please let me know if youd like some more information about fighting hay-fever naturally

03.01.2022 #Repost @the.nurturing.nutritionist (@get_repost) Im sure everyone has read that magnesium is a cofactor in over 300 enzymatic reactions within the body. It is needed for protein synthesis, muscle function, bone health, nerve function, maintains glucose levels, DNA and RNA synthesis and repair and energy production. Factors that can lead to a deficiency are:... - inadequate intake - high sugar and soft drink diet - low protein diet - prolonged stress - certain medications - poor absorption Symptoms of a deficiency can often include: - a quivering tongue - fatigue - high blood pressure - headaches/migraines - muscle twitches/spasms - anxiety - insomnia - low mood/depression Magnesium is available in many food sources, such as seeds, nuts, green leafy vegetables, legumes, fruit, wholegrains and dark chocolate. When looking at supplementing, its important to look at the form of magnesium, as they have varying absorption rates and bioavailability. The forms with the highest rate of absorption are magnesium citrate and glycinate. There are cheaper forms such as magnesium carbonate and oxide, these however dont have the same bioavailability and wont be as effective, or may act as a laxative Its important to speak to a health practitioner who can recommend the right magnesium and dosage for you. There are many different compounds available which have added minerals directed at certain conditions, whether it be for energy production, sleep support, high blood pressure or PMS. #magnesium #magnesiumdeficiency #magnesiumbenefits #healthydiet #hypertension #diabetes #anxietyrelief #anxietyrelief #poordiet #highstress #musclespasms #lowmood #insomia #electrolytes #wellness #gethealthy #healthpractitioner #selfcare

01.01.2022 Ever had a headache that stopped you from doing the things you love? Most headaches have more than one contributing cause. They may be due to dehydration, stress, desk work, bad pillows and much more. They can also take the form of migraines, which affect 4.9 million Australians and greatly impact their quality of life. Because headaches are so common, most people think getting a headache is a normal part of life. Although it may be easy to take certain medication to mask ...the pain, if you're a constant sufferer it could be time to try something new. Why not consider a chiropractor to help manage your headaches? Chiropractors use specific, gentle spinal adjustments to help alleviate headaches and can also provide lifestyle advice on helping to prevent their reoccurrence. Remedial massage may also alleviate your headaches as muscle tension is one of the more common causes of headaches. James is back tomorrow, ready to work his magic.
